Pendant plus de 30 ans, j’ai utilisé un stylo tubulaire Staedler - notamment pour tracer des cases de BD. Du costaud. Et puis la boîte Rotring était tellement chère dans ma jeunesse que je n’avais pas osé investir dans la marque.Au bout de 30 ans, la pointe du Staedler était un peu fatiguée et laissait une petite goutte au démarrage du trait. Je me suis dit « testons Rotring ».Du point de vue qualité de trait, rien à dire. Impeccable. Au démontage/nettoyage, j’ai été un peu surpris : ça avait l’air moins costaud que du Steadler, la partie haute n’est pas vissée mais posée, on se dit « drôle de conception ».Et le fût s’est fendu. Il n’y a aucune chance que le fût du Staedler se fende à moins de rouler dessus en voiture. En interrogeant les collègues, j’ai appris que « c’était classique chez Rotring, c’est sa faiblesse ». On m’a offert des fûts que j’ai consolidé.Je ressors le Rotring et il est bouché. Bon, pas grave, on va nettoyer. Après nettoyage, ça coule pas terrible (ça m’agace). Et le fût renforcé s’est fendu à nouveau. Là, j’ai dit des gros mots.30 ans de Staedler et le seul problème c’est une usure de la pointe. Je n’ai pas hésité une seconde, j’ai commandé un nouveau Staedler.

I really want to love this pen. I've heard such good things about it, and actually have a .35 and a .5 Rotring Isograph that I love. Like the others, this one is easy to fill and clean. When the ink is flowing well through this pen it is an absolute joy. Today I'm using this particular pen on a Stillman and Birn Beta Series 140# watercolor paper journal. This is a smooth paper, no texture to speak of. The pen will do fine for a while, but then cuts out and leaves a groove on the paper with no ink. The ink begins to flow again as soon as I hold the tip to a paper towel and give it a shake, but the point of "drawing the breath" is that the lines are unbroken. I'm not pressing hard, and I am using the pen very consistently and smoothly. I expecct the slight groove from the tip dragging a bit along the surface, but ordinarily don't see the groove because it immediately fills with ink. I say this because I'm using this set-up to do mindful penwork, which is long, smooth, unbroken lines. I'm using the ink that came with the pen, so there shouldn't be issues with compatability. I will continue using the pen on a variety of other papers and see if the problem is only on this one partiular surface. Never had a problem using any other pens on these notebook journals.

It simply doesn't work. The ink cartridge is full, but it acts as if it's going dry.

Best technical pen on the market today. It seems all manufacturers have allowed a slow decline in quality over the years, but rotring still comes out on top.

Sincèrement, je trouve que Rotring est la meilleure marque en son genre. Isogrpaph stylo est robuste, fiable, finitions parfaites. Je recommande.
