Small touch screen menus mean it is no good for the blind, but it is a marvellous little machine. Quite brilliant.

Scan Reader Pen for Dyslexia, 142 Language Scan Readering Pen Translator for Elderly, Kids, Students, ....This is an interesting gadget, primarily for translating text, but it has many other features such as voice translation, voice recorder, dictionary, music player and even video player. For most functions, it requires an internet connection to work, but it does work off-line for some of the most common languages. When powered on, it takes a while to boot up but then you are greeted with a display with several options. The display is touch-control although not very responsive or accurate and can be a bit awkward to use having to touch things several times before they activate or having to flip back because it activated the wrong option. This is probably due to a combination of fat fingers and a small screen, maybe a stylus should have been included.Use is easy, for text, just run the scanner along the text and it will read it aloud, a press of a button and it will also translate it to a preset language and read it aloud in that language too. You can also dictate to it, and it will display what you have said and again convert it to another language in text and speech. There are a few different voices to choose from when reading aloud.Video playing isn’t great, for one the screen is tiny, this is more of a gimmick than any use, audio playback is fine, you will need to connect some Bluetooth headphones though as the quality from the built-in speaker isn’t great.Included in the box is a USB-C charge lead, screen protector, soft silicon sleeve and instruction manual.Initially it was an interesting and useful gadget, but the novelty wears off and unfortunately it ends up in the bottom draw, pity really as it can be very useful especially with instruction booklets.

So this is actually easy to use and has some visual images in the menu to make it easier. Thee are a few flaws such as the smaller print can be misread by the pen. My daughter who is dyslexic is getting along well using this. There are lots of different features
