Product is great for quick adjustments to the anchor line and holds without any slippage. Base is strong and have no worries about it breaking at all.

These are great for both small boats and fishing kayaks. I do not have a pedal kayak so when i move into a casting position I drop the anchor and it allows me to fish and cast without constantly making corrections with the paddle. They are indispensable for kayak fishing. They also do double duty in my skiff allowing. me to put a bow and stern anchor down for stillwater fishing.They are plastic and Scotty charges too much but there are not too many other options. They do last forever.

I like the fact that I can control my anchor by myself, I can move to another location nearby by just pulling the anchor up a bit and letting the anchor lock hold it without having to pull it all the way up and putting it into the boat every time I want to move.

This is the second of these anchor systems I have purchased along with a Scotty flush mount. We keep one with the 18 foot Grumman up north and one here at camp for the other boats. The unit is simple, light weight but rugged, easy to move from boat to boat and has worked well with 3 - 10 lb anchors even when one gets hung up in the rocks on the bottom and we have to move the boat to pull at various angles until the anchor comes free. It locks down tightly on the anchor rope, holds real well in the wind, but comes free instantly when you lift the line.

I'm using this on a small boat with a fifteen pound anchor and it works great--except when my dog is sitting on the anchor rope! I like how it can be adjusted as to the angle to clear the side of the boat, and then swung inboard when the anchor is placed in the boat during transport--or it can be removed entirely leaving just the mounting bracket. The rope stop holds a 3/8" anchor rope very firmly yet allows it to drop freely into the water if you hold the rope high enough (over the dog). The only issue I had with it is that the included mounting bracket is not actually flush mount, but through the deck mount. So you'll need to drill a hole about an inch and a quarter, or inch and a half in diameter to mount it--which was within about half an inch of being a major problem on my boat.I read where someone complained that it was made of plastic, but it's that very heavy plastic which is very solid, and I like it much better than the cast aluminum ones that I've seen in catalogs. So, I'm happy with it and it was well worth the price.
