I couldn't use it. Wrong size for my project. I gave it 3 Stars, because it's a Scotty product. I've used them since I got my boat in 2002. Great products.

Not much can be said for this review because of course, this item is very specific for a very specific use. So you need to make sure that the ball diameter is the right size you need, and you're planning to fit it into a base that's compatible with this particular ball mount. The stem portion fits into a compatible base like the Scotty 241L-BK sold on Amazon, and the base allows the stem to be pulled up to turn, or pushed down to lock the stem into a fixed position. The ball in turn or course, serves to connect to other compatible accessories like fish finder plates, etc. where the ball enables swiveling of the attached accessory for ease of positioning and use.As always, Scotty mounts and accessories are built like a tank. You'd be hard pressed to break this thing if you tried. I use a ton of Scotty products and can recommend this and other Scotty products highly.
