I combined this restraint with a strong "pad eye" to give me a quick way to hold back my overly friendly dog from jumping up on new people until she gets calmed down. Just what I needed.

I finally went to these after getting my hands all cut up from the downrigger cables. Wish I would have done it years earlier. It's really helpful to pluck the weight out of the water while rebaiting or when pulling out the downrigger because there is a fish on. Be sure to get one that is of appropriate length for your downrigger arm though.
