Let me start with the statement that I don't do my own oil changes but that does not preclude me from using this tool! Awhile ago, I was speaking with a technical support person about a problem that I was having with my hot tub. He had me open the service panel to access the various pumps. He instructed me to decouple one of the pipes from its pump. This involved loosening the PVC collar (about 3" in diameter) from the threaded end. As you can appreciate, such connections are screwed on tightly to prevent leakage. In the tight space, I was unable to loosen the collar by hand, so he suggested using a tool that would provide more leverage to the task - unfortunately, I didn't have any wrenches or pliers whose jaws were large enough to fit around the collar. Then he suggested an oil filter wrench, but I didn't have one, but NOW I do! This tool would have been perfect for that task.Also, as my age advances, I experience more difficulties in opening jars that in the past. Using this tool to open jars of tomato sauce may be overkill, but it gets the job done. Just be aware that the teeth on its jaws are (bare) metal, so when it grips the lid, it may well damage it such it can't be resealed. Perhaps even worse, if you apply too much pressure to gripping the lid, you could conceivable break the glass jar, so it is important not to overly squeeze the handles. So, you might want to cover the lid with a cloth or piece of plastic to separate it from the teeth on the jaws.

More times than not I can’t get the oil filter off my car after it’s been on there for 6 months. This excellent clamp style filter wren takes the difficulty right out of that job.To wideness settings for filters of all sizes. I like that it has a little side angle to it as well to help get it into the harder places to reach.This product has made the job infinitely easier.

The socket set with adjustable size works great for the various cars and oil filters I have tried it on. Likewise the clamp works well to release pinched ties on any lines that have them.
