Easy to use for preventing an overlap when painting an edge. Made to a good standard with good quality materials. All at a fair price.

The set of 4 'scrapers' are probably better though of as filler knives - they are certainly not up to the job of removing paint. I use similar knives that are made of steel when filling wood or plaster repairs so I reckon they will be handy enough for this purpose and being plastic will not rust like the ones I have are prone to doing. They are actually quite flexible but with enough rigidity to keep them straight during use so time will tell witht hese ones.The paint guard is more reminiscent of a speed skim for plastering - the steel blade is very similar to ones I already have, and at 30cm this is the smallest I have so its a bit of a bonus there. It can obviously be used as a paint guard but it doesnt have any 45degree angles or similar for this purpose so I suspect is was designed for plaster repairs which is exactly what I intend to use it for.The price of the kit is actually very reasonable given what I am going to use it for - speed skims can be quite pricey so this combined kit is very handy for my non paint related needs. So as a paint guard...3 stars, for plaster repairs...4stars!

There are no surprises, what you see is what you get. Lightweight and easy to hold, versatile as it can be used for cutting in paint, as a straight edge or to smooth wallpaper. It is mainly marketed as a paint guard, but to get a good edge with this, the surfaces you are painting must be smooth and straight, or you will get paint under the blade. It you are painting wooden window frames then this can really help as glass is so smooth you can get a good seal with the blade of this, but some of the edges I painted were a little uneven and this can let paint under and spoil the look of the job. I recommend wiping the blade after each section as well as again any paint on the blade when moving it can contaminate the next section. Overall, a decent enough item if used with thought and care.My reviews follow this star rating:1 Star; Very unsatisfactory product.
