This is a great little tripod... it can sit very low to the ground with a wide base, so it doesn't topple easily with the trail camera.

This little adapter is so incredibly useful and fast and makes working with my Ronin RS-3 easier and less of a hassle, especially when trying to quickly set down the assembly. A wonderful addition and it is well made and well engineered. Highly recommend!

I have a lot of camera gear but don’t have a mini tripod. At times, a low profile one can be very useful. So, being a product by the reputable SmallRig, I just had to try it.As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I am offered new-to-market products, if I want them, at no cost to me, in exchange for an honest, objective, and comprehensive review..This mini tripod is typical SmallRig; well-built, high quality, and sturdy. The packaging is simple and eco-friendly but with the padded cardboard wrap and tissue paper is very protective during shipping. There is also a small rubber cap to protect the thread..The feet are held in place by a sprung-loaded ring at the top. Slide the ring up and the legs are free to spring open. This is best done after the tripod is installed on whatever needs supporting. The ¼ inch tripod thread is fixed. So, you spin and screw the whole tripod onto the camera, holding the closed legs like a handle, then, once tight, push up on the ring to deploy the legs. It’s slightly awkward as there’s little room when the legs start to deploy and they push against your hand. The springs are not strong enough to hurt though..Each leg has a textured silicone insert on the outside and the profile of the closed legs is nicely curved to fit the grip of the hand, the rubber providing extra grippiness. So, the tripod can also be used as a handle for additional camera support. There are rubber pads/feet at the end of each leg..I have a SmallRig cage on my Panasonic Lumix S5ii camera and there are several tapped holes in it for a tripod. However, I tried the tripod with my already-fitted, heavy Sigma 60-600mm lens and attached it to one of the several threaded holes in the L-bracket of the lens. Fortunately, one of the tripod legs aligned with the lens towards the front, providing good stability. Unfortunately, you can’t set the leg where you want it yourself as the final rotational position depends on when the tripod tightens. As long as the tripod circumference is well outside the center of gravity of the camera assembly, the leg positions won’t be an issue.For my case, the tripod worked perfectly, with just a little vibration if I tapped the lens. I’d definitely use a timer to avoid risking a blurry shot with this setup. Other than the vibration, the SmallRig tripod was very stable. For shorter lenses, it would work even better..CONCLUSION:.SmallRig never disappoints and this mini tripod is no exception. It is very well built, has some nice attention to detail, like the grip and supplied thread protector, and at $26, it is very good value. Quality camera gear can be very expensive. This is actually a lower price than I’d expect for what it is..Definitely recommended by this amateur photographer!
