Before, UV-cured glues were only in commercial applications but recently started showing up on Amazon and 'as-seen-on-tv' products, but those used extremely cheap parts and small quantities.This brand though offers different glues (stiff, thick, thin, flexible), larger quantity refills, and a seriously powerful UV flashlight that actually requires 'flashlight' batteries. That was a pain because I had to buy a charger specifically for these tactical-flashlight-batteries. Flashlight is powerful though, enough to feel the heat on your hand after a few seconds.

After years of using a conventional fly tying cement and running into all the usual problems (slow drying when applied to a knot, gumming up, leaving a larger than desired blob, finding it dried out, etc) I tried this out. It is the right viscosity, not to thin but not too thick either. Goes on very precisely with a toothpick and dries very quickly when exposed to UV light but not before. Easy to apply and cure. I found it cured amazingly fast. I covered the knots on some flies and found it an amazing product. It seals well but does not add much if any weight. Water does not seem to affect it after it has been hardened.Then I discovered it also has a second life – the same stuff can be used to seal any flexible plastic or rubber like rips or tears. Works just the same and the generous size of the bottle should last a long long time. Can't recommend this stuff too much – whoever dreamed it up is a genius! Highly recommend for fly tying. Then let your imagination run – where ever you used to use Goop, try this out – seems much more permanent.
