It works as a flexible coupling, as long as the screws - shafts are held in position at either end, plus it is a bit noisy with the flexible material creaking all the time.But it does what it is supposed to couple and align

Really wish I had done this sooner, was pretty easy to swap out to this shaft coupler, although it required loosening the frame pieces to wiggle it in. I just took off the top horizontal brace, loosened the old couplers, lifted the X axis gantry and swapped out the couplers. I then set the gantry back down to set the z screws into the new couplers and re-attached the top horizontal and tightened the couplers on the z screws.Couplers seem to allow enough angular/lateral movement to eliminate my Z-banding issue caused by a slightly bent Z screw.Most printers use steppers with 5mm shafts. The Malyan M150 uses Z-steppers with 8mm shafts so make sure you get the right size coupler for your application.

worked well and fit on ok but Made sure not to over-tighten it and still stripped the set screw when i needed to take it off.
