I have been river, stream, and creek fishing for trout for 70 years in the west. This has become my favorite pole. I just bought another one. It casts for more distance with less effort. It is light in weight and perfectly balanced, making for much less arm and hand fatigue over a long day. The sensitivity is remarkable - there is nothing that comes in contact with my tackle that I can't feel. As a bonus, they are a beautiful rod.

Sensitivity of the rod is excellent. I was a little concerned about the lack of a hand grip, however it is super comfortable to hold, and the action on it is amazing. Great for an ultralight setup.

St Croix- known for quality, weight, comfort, and a smooth castTheir ultra light rods are good. Not great. I have 2 though. I like a 6 foot trout rod. Many get 7. But the 6 does me just fineIt is a quality rod. It shows no sign of wear or breaking anytime soon or in the futureComfort to me means driving it around w a lure tied on. The two piece and the top ring are good for that, the top ring, great- nothing slipping through- even the smallest spinnerI have a tfo and eagle claw rod (which is solid yellow- this rod looks much more muted), still when my brother asked how to get into spin fishing for trout, I recommended a St Croix rod to get started. It has quality, history, and status of a known trout company

Ive owned a few of their rods in the past several years. All have broke. From the trout rods to the mojo bass rods, none have lasted very long. I decided to take a chance on one more and told my friends if this one breaks then I am done. Well i opened the box and it was already snapped at the tip. I dont know what happened during packaging and transit but I feel like a rod capable of catching fish should at least make it to your doorstep intact. Im taking this as a sign to never buy their products again. This inadvertently probably saved me a lot of headache since their warranty isnt any good anymore either.
