Hallo.Ich habe den HDD / SSD Duplizierer in Betrieb genommen. Funktioniert gut. Sehr wichtig ist dass die neue Platte oder SSD mindestens genau so groß oder größer sein muss. Ebenso muss die neue Platte / SSD vorbereitet werden. Das bedeutet Partition anlegen, aktivieren, formatieren. Danach clonen. Sollte der Datenträger deutlich größer sein hat man die Möglichkeit den noch freien Platz zu erweitern damit die Gesamtkapazität genutzt werden kann. Angaben über die Haltbarkeit kann ich natürlich nicht angeben. Schön wäre natürlich wenn man auch die alten IDE HDD auf SATA SSD clonen könnte, ebenso die alte IDE HDD auf NVME PCIE 3,4,5.MfG.

das Gerät war nicht neu! Es war schonmal in gebrauch (Benutzungsspuren an den Schutzdeckeln) Außerdem war die Einzelteile tlw. unverpackt und die geöffneten und zerrissene Schutztüten waren im Karton reingestopft!Wenigstens hat es bei der ersten Inbetribnahme funktioniert.

Up to now, I really love this station. I can insert 2 disks at a time. They are both accessible. Read/write speed is fantastic!

First day of usage after few minutes, the docking station started behave strange. After trying to analyze the problem, the docking station became unusable, not responding at all, not working at all. Returned it.

Eine klare Empfehlung!Sieht ja im Netz alles gleich aus....egal von welchem Hersteller,aber es gibt massive Unterschiede.Die Star Tech Station läuft einwandfrei !Ich habe sie seit ich eine zuvor eingesetzte RS Tech entsorgt habe, nachdem diese mir ganz offensichtlich Festplatten unbrauchbar gemacht hatte.Meine Empfehlung....ähnlicher Name ....kaufen Sie aber diese hier von Star Tech !Lieben Gruß

Very good duplicator, able to use stand-alone mode like the 5 way model.

Funktioniert wie erwartet, kann ich weiterempfehlen. Soweit keine Probleme, egal welches OS auf der HDD installiert war (MAC OS noch nicht getestet). Vorgang braucht seine Zeit, ist aber bei Bitmuster-copy nicht anders zu erwarten. Das Ziel muss gleich oder grösser als die Quelle sein, aber das sollte Anwendern die sich nach so einer Lösung umsehen bekannt sein.

Ich habe es zum Kopieren von Festplatten ohne Computer-Unterstützung angeschafft.Das macht das Gerät tadellos. Quell- und Zielfestplatte einstecken, Knöpfchen drücken, warten, fertig.

... von z.B. Lenovo T430s direkt steckbar in dieser Dockingstation. Man braucht also zum duplizieren seiner Notebook-Festplatte das HDD-Metall-Caddy nicht abschrauben, da es samt Festplatte in die Dockingstation passt. Habe noch eine andere Dockingstation, wo der Spielraum vom SATA-Anschluss zum Gehäuse nicht ausreicht. Somit kann man schnell mal extern eine 1:1 - Kopie seiner Festplatte machen bzw. das klonen auf SSD geht so wunderbar schnell von statten. Lediglich diese Plaste-Klappen in der Dockingstation können eventuell nicht schließen beim Klon-Vorgang, da minimal die Schrauben vom Caddy stören können. Nach Ablauf der Garantie kann man ja die Plaste-Klappen leicht beschleifen, so dass diese dann trotz Caddy sauber schließen.

Der Duplicator ist klasse. Ohne Zutun funktioniert er wie ein externes USB Festplattengehäuse bzw. wie zwei, da man ja auch zwei Festplatten anschließen kann. Die von mir bestellte Variante hat dazu noch einen eSATA Anschluss. Der Vorteil ist, dass man auf dem Weg auch Firmware der Platten aktualisieren kann was viele Hersteller über USB nicht erlauben. Allgemein hat man dann meist mehr Möglichkeiten.Hält man die PC/Copy Taste 3 Sekunden lang gedrückt trennt das Dock die USB Verbindung und wechselt in den Kopiermodus. Nun kann man von einer Festplatte eine 1:1 Kopie herstellen in dem man auf Start drückt. Dazu muss man beachten, dass das Quelllaufwerk in HDD 2 steckt und das Ziellaufwerk in HDD 1. Das kann verwirren und mir ist auch nicht klar warum Startech diese Entscheidung gefällt hat. Aber die LED-Icons sind entsprechend beschriftet und daher sollte es hier hoffentlich bei keinem zu einem Unfall kommen.Der Kopierprozess kann dabei je nach Größe der Festplatte schon mal eine Stunde oder länger dauern. Startech wirbt mit 22 GB/min. Das sind 370 MB/s. Die Lese-/Schreib-Geschwindigkeit einer typischen HDD liegt allerdings bei 100 MB/s, d.h. 1 TB benötigen knapp 3 Stunden Kopierzeit.Was das Dock dann leider gar nicht kann ist von einer großen Festplatte auf eine kleinere zu kopieren. Selbst wenn sie nur ein paar GB kleiner ist, wie das ja leider bei manchen SSDs der Fall ist (z.B. 250 und 256 GB SSDs). Da hilft es auch nicht die Partitionen vorher entsprechend zu verkleinern. Bei so einem Fall hilft dann nur noch Clonezilla oder ähnliche Software. Allerdings hat Startech für diesen Fall gar keine Kopierstation im Angebot. Ich glaube es gibt auch gar keine auf dem Markt?!Dann muss man noch wissen, dass das Dock nicht mit defekten Sektoren umgehen kann. Dann bleibt es wohl hängen. Wer dafür ein Dock braucht, muss zur greifen, die aber auch deutlich größer und teurer ist.

Over the years, I have seen many product names come and go. So far, everything I have run across from this company StarTech has really been a good quality item for the price.You can find many other cloners and I am sure for a cheaper price, but the experience I have had with ST, i bought this one.- Good quality -- Nice and heavy for what looks to be plastic.- No issues, worked like a charm- Tested cloning a 250gb drive to a 500gb drive that was a standard boot mbr. Threw the clone in the machine and it booted up without issues.- Win7 self loaded a driver when hooked to the pc and the device then acts like a dock to access the drives via usb 3.0- Easy to clone. Plug the source in the source slot HDD2 (yes, source is slot 2 in the one i received and i have no idea why they would do that. Logic would have you thinking to clone 1 to 2, not 2 to 1) and the destination disk into slot 1. Make sure the pc/copy button is red for copy and press the button. Wait some time and bam, it is done. Take note that this takes some time. This is not done by wiggling your nose and snapping your fingers. Your fingers will be broken by the time it is done. With 2 drives at 7200 spin SATA 3gbps, the 250gb drive was done in just under 40 minutes by my count. Throw a nice 2gb combo at the same speeds and you might want to just go eat dinner and watch a movie.Only one small thing that is becoming less of a big deal every day; IDE drives. No access to clone older IDE drives as this is for SATA only. At work, I have a lot of older pcs with IDE only. We are using every instance of trouble to simply upgrade pcs which all have SATA anyway but if i needed a quick access to a disk, it would be nice to have it here. There is an option priced on Amazon here at $18 or so that provides a dongle to fit right in this device, giving access to IDE. You need this option, a pair of these might be worth it or then find another option with this built in.Part of the reason i bought this one is that we use the StarTech 2 bay dock to access disks on the desk now as it is and enjoy the quality there as well. I bought this one for the office and may consider one for home with the option of cloning out a large windows drive that is simply ready.Good product and worth the money in my opinion.Update: 12/14/2015 - This device works great, but I did find one snag that most people will not run into, but I sure did; HPA partitions. What you do not see listed is that this will not copy a HPA partition. These partitions are used for older pcs that needed instructions on how to handle larger discs in regards to ATA and were also used for security purposes. If you are trying to clone a disk with one of these and it is the only hard drive left alive with a dead vendor, you are screwed.Now for the good news; StarTech rocks. I only took a survey and man, they were on top of things fast. Not only did they contact me to make sure my needs were fulfilled and why they were/were not, they made the whole situation right by making sure I got the right device that could do so. I offered to send this one back to compensate them back and they said "keep it, you might still use it".Class company that is certainly focusing on customer service and that says a lot of their character and how they do business.

Muy útil para los que nos gusta cacharrear. Mejor conectarla por eSATA (y si es a una controladora que soporte varios discos a la vez, mejor aún) que por USB 3.0. Como clonadora física de HDD independiente del ordenador funciona perfectamente; eso sí, a los impacientes les aviso que para 500 GB tarda sobre los 50 minutos.Como pequeña pega, que los rótulos no están recomendados para los que ya vamos sufriendo presbicia; son chiquititos chiquititos, hay que asegurarse varias veces de cual es el slot para el disco original y cual para la copia. Cuidadín cuidadín ;-)
