Recently my wife realized that many of her most valuable memories are still on the old laptop that was still laying around. She swore she backed it up but I could not find anything on my network storage so we don't really know what happened. The computer, of course, was inoperable due to components that failed over time, and I didn't have any ancient IDE interfaces on my computers.I decided to order this SUIDEK SATA/IDE to USB adapter and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was able to attache the drive, mount it, and recover all of the contents. Read/write performance is good (at least when I tested it with newer SATA drives... IDE is slooooow!) and the device is small enough that it can be stored away with all of my other peripherals that I only use occasionally. If you have a drive that you need to get the contents from, this may be a lifesaver!

Guter Adapter für IDE Festplatten. Das Gerät funktioniert leider nicht mit anderen Geräten mit IDE Anschluss. Bei optischen Laufwerken ist zudem der Molex Stecker zu nahe an der IDE Verbindungsleiste,so dass eine Geräteverbindung scheitert. Mit IDE Festplatten hingegen ist eine einwandfreie Funktiongegeben.

This is just a great thing to have around if you do anything at all with computer maintenance and repair. This makes it easy to plug in an internal drive without actually mounting it in a computer by simply putting the drive onto the appropriate adapter on the device, and plugging the device into its power supply. It has good throughput speed, and will read and write as fast as the drive itself can go. The cables provided are long enough to use comfortably while it is plugged in to the computer, and the box has three different connections on it, both type IDE drives, and SATA drives are supported, even all of them at once according to the manufacturer, but I have only used one at a time myself. I have recovered a surprising amount of old photos and files I've used it to find from a pile of old hard drives salvaged from various computers over the last 30 years or so. I think this is a well made, if not real attractive (who cares) tool that does exactly what you need it to do, and does it well, with no headaches at all. I think this is an excellent value, and I can absolutely recommend it.

This is super handy for accessing drives from old computers. It worked flawlessly for every drive I tried. I used it for 4 different SATA drives, 2 were hard drives and 2 were DVD+RW drives. I also used it for 1 40 pin IDE hard drive. I didn't have a 44 pin IDE drive to try it on.It's a nice compact size, which is great for storing when not in use. The speed was great and met my expectations. It was easy to use and I didn't have any problems.

Ein toller, kleiner Helfer.Bisher verwendete ich externe Festplatten mit Gehäuse, oder eine Dockingstation.In die Dockingstation stellt man die Festplatten von oben rein.Das heißt, dass die Festplattenaufnahme zugleich auch ein guter Staubfänger ist.Somit habe ich meine Dockingstation nie am Platz stehen lassen, sondern sie nach Gebrauch immer wieder weggepackt.Dass man bei diesem Adapter die Festplatten liegend an die Seite ansteckt, empfinde ich daher als Pluspunkt für solch ein offen gestaltetes Produkt.Drei Festplatten gleichzeitig betreiben zu können finde ich ebenfalls top.Das konnte meine etwa gleichteure Dockingstation nicht.Aber es kann nur jeweils eine Festplatte eines Anschlusstyps sein.Dass auf den Produktfotos die Anschlüsse falsch angegeben werden, finde ich äußerst dämlich.Da sieht man wieder, wie wenig Mühe sich die Chinesen für den ausländischen Raum geben.Kommt mittlerweile doch recht häufig vor und gehört sich meiner Meinung nach nicht.Der Festplattenleser kommt mit USB-C-A Adapter.Ist also auch an modernere Rechner anzuschließen.Die Möglichkeit ein Netzteil verwenden zu können ist absolut sinnvoll.Das Gerät ist in Anbetracht der vielfältigen Anschlussmöglichkeiten sehr klein.Gefällt mir ebenfalls sehr gut. So kann ich es angeschlossen lassen und bei Bedarf einfach an eine Tischecke, hinter den Monitor, oder fix in die Schublade legen.SATA Festplatten wurden bei mir problemlos gelesen.Leider hatte ich keine DIE Festplatte mehr zum Testen vorliegen.Vier Sterne.
