This is a tool I used for appliqué. It is possible to stabilize an object over another layer of appliqué, if fusible webbing isn't appropriate or available. Interesting product, experimentation is advised.

Charlottes Fusible Web thread works great. After attaching one side to my flannel quilt binding to my quilt, I zig-zaged a medium stitch in the seam allowance with the web thread in my bobbin . Then I turn the binding and pressed the folded edge down. The web thread adhered to the back side of my binding so I could sew on the front side or in the ditch if I placed the back correctly and I could sew it without having to use pins. It ensures that you catch the underside of your blanket binding. I was concerned that using all flannel would be too thick and it won't work. But that was not the case. It worked beautifully. I will always use it to attach my bindings now. Thank you Superior Threads for Charlottes fusible web thread.
