I use this thread for just about everything. I have gotten so used to it that now most normal sewing thread feels like string in my hands. It is excellent for needleturn applique: With its slight texture it grips the fabric. The tail end of the knot does not slip out as can happen with slipperier, if finer silk. Also its low shine, unlike 100 weight silk, means it snuggles better into the fabric without showing. It is also “superior” for piecing, making very flat seams with minimal thickness at the turned edges. There is virtually no lint produced after hours of sewing. Yes it is polyester but poly thread “cutting” the fabric is an old wives’ tail easily disproven. Test it yourself by snapping a strand of thread. It will break with just a firm tug but not one that could possibly harm cotton fabric. And of course it is the thread of choice in my bobbins. With a huge range of colors and huge volume on the spool this is my very favorite thread.

Amazing for paper piecing. Recommended by instructor and also EPP patterns. Blends in really well with all fabric colors.
