It works with the existing lock providing it’s not a key lock on the inside.There is a lack of anything to pull to open the door, so people tend to pull on the body of the lock. Which because the mechanism that turns the lock is open it can sometimes get dislodged.I purchased the key pad for the outside and a push button for the inside.
