I waited a year to write this review. We have a 60 acre property in a rural area. We got a kitten who was obsessed with being outside and it was tough to find her at night time when the coyotes, owls, foxes, etc. come out. We got this collar because it was not as bulky as the fancier collars and because we have no wifi or cell service on most of our property. After a year, I can say that this thing is amazing. While you do have to walk around a bit to pick up a signal (if your cat wanders like ours), once you pick one up it is pretty easy to follow it to your cat. I can usually find our cat in less than 5 minutes. On the rare occasions that she wanders further than usual, when I'm starting to question whether the collar works as I can't find a signal, I push her usual roaming area on foot and, sure enough, I find her in some far flung location that is off her beaten path. I bought the two pack. I have changed the batteries once in the remote that picks up the signal, and I have switched from the first signal sending collar to the second. I have not tried to change the batteries in the actual thing sending the signal on the collar. I'm not sure if that's possible (feel free to tell me what I need and what to do, if you know). But to be honest, I would buy more collar signalers from the company even if those batteries cannot be changed. It works that well. I have not used the fancier kinds which have a map on a screen but I honestly couldn't see the reason to buy that more expensive option when this works so well. Once you use it for a while, you begin to discover your cat's regular routine and it becomes even quicker to find him/her. I have been meaning to rave about this for a while and finally remembered to do it. I highly recommend this.

I had an older version of this and was not as good this one has further detection range and smaller unit for his collar,thats where the problem will come from is getting him used too collars,was a rescue and we dont think he's ever had one on but we will buy some cheap ones to see if he rips it off or is fine,cross your fingers for me and Wallace

Das Gerät funktioniert erstaunlich gut. Was nicht gleich ersichtlich ist: es liegen zwei Sender bei. Es können also zwei Katzen geortet werden oder man hat noch Ersatz, wenn ein Sender abhanden kommt. Die Reichweite ist mit maximal 150m angegeben. Das klappt nur bei optimalen Bedingungen also hindernisfreier Übertragung. Beim typischen Radius, den Katzen so bewältigen, sollte man mit etwas Spazierengehen irgendwann seinen Haustiger orten können, zumindest in unserer Siedlungsstruktur mit den typischen Grundstücken

Prinzipiell kein schlechtes Produkt. Habe es allerdings zurückschicken wollen, weil meine Katzen kein Halsband tolerieren. Aber: Rücksendung an Amazon auf eigene Kosten in die USA?!?! Ich fühle mich veräppelt!

Die Ortung funktioniert sehr genau, allerdings nur bis ca. 25m Entfernung. Weiter weg zeigt er nichts an. Eine verlorene Katze zu orten ist damit unmöglich.

We've had the Tabcat for two months and it's been mostly rock solid.Range/context:Our cat wanders very far (sometimes 200+ meters in suburbs) so we did not expect this tracker to locate him without looking around a bit and it cannot but that's fine. There are sometimes multiple houses and yards in the way and a short walk around the neighbourhood is all it takes to get a signal if we ever need to locate him. A few times every day, we turn on the tracker to find out if our cat is in the area. Instead of looking for him and worrying, we instantly know if he's within calling distance and in what direction. It's a huge relief when your cat hasn't been around for more than a couple hours.Battery life:So far, considering we've been tracking the tag multiple times per day every single day for two months, the battery life is pretty good both for the tracker and for the tag. GPS trackers don't come close to this.Form factor:Our cat isn't a small cat so keep that in mind, but the tag isn't in the way at all. We use it with the protective case because otherwise it's not water resistant but our cat doesn't seem to notice it. Again, much less bulky than the GPS trackers tend to be.Issue encountered:One issue appeared after a few weeks where the tracker more and more would beep for a good second when we pressed the button to track the tag instead of tracking it but it turns out the casing is flexible enough that we were pressing with our index fingers on the battery door behind the tracker while pressing the button with our thumb and this was enough to move the battery inside off of one contact, restarting the tracker. After adding a small paper shim on top of the battery, it has worked 100% of the time. This could be fixed by making the back casing thicker or by lessening the Z space in the battery compartment. The manual recommends a GP389 battery which is a bit thinner than the CR2032 that came with the unit so I'm not sure why there's enough room for the battery to shift but considering how easy it was to fix, I'm still recommending the product wholeheartedly.

Muy bien, vivo en Coyoacán en un lugar lleno de árboles y casas pero me ha ayudado mucho mucho a tranquilizarme por mi gato paseador. Me dice hacia qué dirección está y que está cerca o lejos y en más de 4 ocasiones me ha permitido ir por él. Una vez perdió el collar y encontré el collar en la bodega llena de cosas viejas de un vecino por la precisión del aparato. Lo recomiendo.
