Really pleased with this set.So far I’ve only used the M6 tap, but that was a total success.I needed to tap an M6 thread into some structural steel which was approximately 10mm thick.Whilst drilling the pilot hole I was a little concerned how well these taps would cope with it as it was quite hard to drill.Due to where the tap needed to be done I wasn’t able to get my tap wrench in the space. After drilling a 5mm pilot hole. I inserted the first tap into a cordless drill, on low speed and low clutch setting and plenty of cutting fluid. I was amazed how well and easy the tap cut. I repeated through the next two taps, both as easy as the first. Got the bolt and was a perfect fit. No visible signs of wear to the tap after using. Very happy with purchase. As an occasion user I can see these lasting me a lifetime, for someone who uses them a lot I would have thought they’d still be happy with the quality.

Hadn’t used it yet but I hope they are tough to penetrate the harden steel of most bolts. There shouldn’t be a size issue but would’ve been greater in metric.

these are decent taps and supplied as 1st 2nd and bottom taps - the correct way to thread things. hard steel and i managed to cut some chrome-vanadium without breakages - i did use a fine spec tapping drill size as the course spec would have been asking too much for the taps to cut.

Bought this entire set to re-thread a metal socket box that had lost its thread due to a bungled job by a clumsy electrician. This entire set cost less than some individual thread taps, so I thought I may as well get the set, since it's also from a well-known brand.To my surprise, it came in a nice metal box and so far is very accurate.

Would not recommend for anything serious as the wobble is significant, much worse than expected. Didn’t come with the handle which is a shame as added cost would bring it to much better kits. Overall average, keeper.
