This keyboard cover fits my IdeaPad 5i perfectly! At a glance, you can't even tell it's a cover. However, the keys are completely opaque. One of the big reasons I upgraded to this computer was for the backlit keys and this cover renders the back-light useless. For some odd reason, they left the function keys transparent, but not any of the main keyboard. This is great in good lighting, but kind of a pain in low light.

Here are my impressions of this product after a short morning typing session: 1) It fits perfectly over the keyboard keys; 2) The bottom edge of the cover, from the CTRL key past the space bar, all the way to the keypad ENTER key, is designed with a slight flare to make it easy to remove the overlay. For me, and I think for most people, this is a great, subtle, and desirable design element. However, theoretically there could be someone out there who slides their fingers from the touch-pad up to the space bar, in which case they might inadvertently lift the cover; 3) The cover does not materially interfere with typing, but it does change the "feel" of the keys because the cover is made of a soft plastic, with a slightly different texture than the actual hard-plastic keys; 4) With the exception of the keyboard top-row, the overlay only allows the keyboard backlight to show around the borders of the keys. It suppresses the lighting that shines through the keyboard letters themselves. The top row of the keyboard overlay is fully transparent, so it passes the backlight completely; 5) The down-side of having the top-row key coverings transparent is that when the keyboard backlight is set OFF, those keys are less readable; 6) The overlay changes the color scheme of the keyboard, from white text on gray background to slightly bold white text on black background. This does make the keyboard slightly easier to read. Again, the exception is the overlay top-row, which is close-to-transparent, and makes the top row keys slightly more difficult to read (unless the backlight is activated).
