These had short little cords and all of them needed a USB. I wanted to light something on a shelf so totally doesn’t work for that. In fact I can’t imagine any scenario where you would have all the usb plugs at short length from what you are illuminating. But they were hella bright.

The good: these are indeed bright, easy to use lights that can make your LEGO and other brick projects look cool. They work quickly, and provide options for installation.The less good: while these are good, they don't have all the parts you need. You need some kind of power brick to use them, and there are no controls on them. I assume that if I had other USB controllers, including Mindstorms-style light controllers, you could use these with them. But it doesn't come with them out of the box, and they don't have a dimmer, either.

I use these to light up my Lego Saturn V. Really gives the "Saturn V at night" look like you see in the iconic 1969 photo. Great value for the money.

This is lighting my 10213 Space Shuttle. Makes it look epic! These provide enough light to be effective without being annoyingly bright.
