Checked the temperature that it operates and it’s within 1 or 2° of the advertised on and off temperature.

Schaltet zu früh ein und erst viel zu spät wieder aus. Zumindest in meinem Fall.

I installed this temp switch to trigger the cooling fans on my aluminum radiator.I installed this in the port of the water pump of my SBC. I had to use the adapter to fit that port. The switch claims to actuate at 185' and shut off at 175', per my Milwaukee temp gun, its about 5 degrees off. Well within the margin of error IMO, my temp gun showed it actuated at 180's, and shut off at 170'Not a big deal. Some people will try to claim teflon tape will affect the grounding of the switch, this is completely false. If they claim this they have no idea how threads with tape work, or they wasted so much tape they affected the mechanical engagement of the threads.Tape is made to tear and plug the gaps, not affect the engagement of the threads. If you want to verify the switch is grounding to the engine block properly, with all your wiring done, connect a jumper wire with an alligator clip to the terminal, and touch the other end to the body of the switch (not the metal you threaded it into) this will verify good ground. If you need a temp switch, i would recommend this item, it works great, just like it should.

Works great on my 1998 Town car, because some genius one at the ford company decided that the 1998 4.6L engine doesn't need a cooling temperture sensor it uses some bs sensors instead. And they dont work, but the town car still had the whole so i hooked one into the fan relay since relays work using ground not pos. IT WORKED GREAT 40,000 miles and then i sold the car, took me 3 years to figure out, and this is the way i solved a problem manufactured by ford / lincoln/ mercury on the 4.6L V8 You will need yo buy a thermostat that is 180 replace the 190 that is in there. Its placement matters, put it in a spot that gets hotter then the rest, or in a cooler depending on where if its closer or further away from tthe thermostat matters. When you turn the car off, remember that the temperature still climbs for 5 minutes, so you have a buffer. I hooked it up to a green LED button thing that turned green when the relay clicked on thanks to this negative chassis switch.
