I purchased this journal to take on a long-distance backpacking trip. Weight extremely important and per the item/product information, this journal is supposed to weigh a mere 4ozs. However, this journal is 12ozs! 3Xs heavier than expected and when backpack weight can be max 16lbs, the difference is significant. Hoped for soft, flexible covers and thinner paper pages to reduce weight but has hard covers and heavier weight paper pages. So, if looking for nice, convenient sized journal where weight is not crucial, then PERFECT choice. Nice quality journal, opens completely without breaking the binding, paper thick enough you can use any kind of ink with no bleed thru and covers are substantial so will give support/base to write on. Got a lower mark because NOT a travel journal and product info was wrong and needs to be corrected
