Received my filter today, opened the case and the dang thing was empty.. I honestly was so livid I was about to “Karen” Amazon customer service. But I took a few breaths and looked through my package of a few other items I had ordered at the same time.. sure enough there it was, at the bottom, loose and floating around. I was not as livid but newly livid thinking it was smudged, scratched, or even worse, cracked. But luckily it was just all cosmetic smudges and markings. I’ve gotten $10.00-$20.00 filters from Amazon before in large packages and they were packaged 10x better than this tiffen filter. For a $60.00 filter I’d figure they’d atleast tape the case up, but no. It’s just clicked together with the power of prayers that it will stay closed. And inside is a flimsy excuse of styrofoam that’s as thin as paper and a card. The $10 walkingway filter I bought had a nice thick case and the glass was in a styrofoam insert that kept it nice and secure.Besides that mishap it’s quite beautiful and does exactly what I hoped it would. Fills the image with a smoke like essence you can only get at a waffle house back in 1979. I’d suggest maybe ordering this, or any tiffen filter solo to avoid getting a scratched or cracked filter.

I keep this filter stored with silica bead packets to ensure no moisture and yet still fungus. I successfully took out the glass to try and clean it but the fungus is permanently sealed between the two layers of glass

This is working wonders coupled with my Lumix lenses on my GH4, GH3, and OM-D EM-1. I've been trying to get that slightly soft, diffused look I've seen in many others' work out of my Micro Four Thirds cameras. It can be done with older lenses (I can get it with my Canon FD glass, for instance) but I wanted the convenience of shooting with my new lenses that are made for these sensors. This filter really helps knock the harsh, digital looking edge off the image coming from these lenses. I expect I'll buy a couple more of these in different strengths to use on my other lenses.
