This lap desk is lightweight but sturdy enough to be one of the biggest helps to my small craft and sewing projects. It is very well made and easy to adjust to the angle that you need. The embedded corkboard is a tremendous help when you are making small repairs to clothing. By attaching your item with pins into the corkboard you can complete the job with ease! A must for any home crafter!

This is a cute little lap desk with some clever features, but I think the design needs to be refined a little more. I don’t find it comfortable to use on my lap. It’s just too narrow to sit comfortably because you must sit straight and keep your knees touching and heels slightly raised to balance it. They say it has a magnet in the lower cork tray, but I don’t think mine does because nothing clings to it. The small round magnet in the center is strong though and is helpful. I like the fact that it has a little pop out wood piece that fits in a slot and supports a pattern, book, or tablet. In the images they show that removing this wood piece also creates a handle by which to carry it. The downside to this is that while you’re carrying it, there’s nowhere to store the wood piece so you’re also left holding a small piece of wood about the size of a ruler. Also, when you remove that wood piece, the wood that’s exposed in the tray is rough and splintered. I also found the knobs used to tighten the joints to be a little too fiddly. I’d get it perfectly positioned and then when I’d set a book or embroidery pattern on it, the whole thing would collapse, and I’d have to start again to position it and crank the knobs tighter.The part that bothers me the most is the poor condition in was in when I received it. Although it was nicely wrapped, it was put together using wood that looks like it was kicked around on the floor. There are even two dirty boot prints on the wood under and around the wood spools.

This a nice lap stand for work. It adjusts a little higher or lower or you can adjust the angle. I am not sure what that brown thing on the picture, but the stand.is all wood and it doesn't come with it. You can remove the piece of wood and use the slot as a stand. It is well made

I was looking forward to gifting this lap desk, however I returned this product today. There was no magnet as advertised to hold scissors or tools in the compartment tray. The work surface did not remain in an upright position when even a little pressure was applied no matter how much the screws were tightened down. There were sharp nails sticking up underneath the work surface which could catch a finger or fabric. The design idea is good, but workmanship needs more attention.
