It's an aluminium frame with a carbon fibre plate with a beveled edge in the front. It won't improve your audio quality but it does look nice. I have a small stack with a Wiim Ultra on the bottom on top of my cabinet to feed my amps with music. It fits though it is a bit shallow in the back so there is some overhang. If you want something fun, go and take a look at this. In the list of audiofoolery this is relatively cheap if you can grab one on sale.

You don't really need one of these. Though it is well made and quite pretty in a plain black sort of way. The slight angle does make the display a little easier to read at a corresponding angle of sight. Though if that was really important they would angle displays. The bottom line is, its an unnecessary essential.

Though I had an idea what this “Topping DB Display Base” might be, I was highly curious, and I wanted to see it for myself since there is virtually no information in the product listing. So, what it is is a kind of placemat for displaying hifi gear. It is quite beautifully machined out of aluminum, and has an insert area made out of what looks to be genuine carbon fiber. The front edge is beveled with subtle“ Topping” text imbossed in it. The whole thing is quite solid, it doesn’t’ flex. There are two sizes of this thing, and I ordered the larger size “DB2523.” I assume the model number refers to the size in centimeters. In inches it is 9 & 7/8 wide by 9 & 1/4 front to back. The carbon fiber insert is 9 & 1/2 wide by 7 & 1/2 front to back. It’s a handsome bit of kit, I will keep it for sure
