This is a nice product to have for safety and peace of mind when doing anything in areas where air quality could be a concern. I can’t speak to daily industrial use, as I got it for times I work in my garage with chemicals and/or a propane heater, or when I’m camping with a heater or fire. The tester comes in a nicely padded protective case, and the unit itself is sturdy and easy to hang. Operation seems simple enough. Sensitivity is good enough for my use, the numbers changing noticeably when I get close to a propane heater or woodstove, which makes it simple to know if CO levels are a concern. As other reviews have mentioned, the USB charging port is an older, almost obsolete type, but the necessary cable is included. The only problem with that would be if the cable gets misplaced or damaged, as most people are unlikely to have a spare of that type laying around. I however do have a few spares, so it’s a non-issue for me. Once charged, the battery life is good enough to last through the day (or night). This unit actually enabled me to diagnose and locate a partially-plugged stovepipe from the woodstove in our house, as I was able to detect where CO was elevated near the pipe. That was quite handy to have. It also helps me sleep more soundly when camping in a tent or tarp shelter with a heat source, knowing that it will alarm if air quality becomes dangerous.

We've been testing this gas monitor around our house for a short while now and love having it around for moments when we're questioning any gas leaks, especially from our old furnace in the basement that we're keeping a close eye on especially during these super cold months. It comes in an awesome little hard shell case that has a handle and 2 clips on either side to keep it closed. The gas monitor is inside along with a charging cable. Shame it's not USB-C but it's not a huge issue. The monitor itself is incredibly easy to operate and quite foolproof. A power/select button in the middle, along with an up and down navigation. The screen is clear and easy to read and allows for quite a bit of customization/selection between the various options and detection modes. I am yet to actually detect anything, which is a very good thing, but I have no doubt that this will alert us loudly just by how loud the selection beeps are when navigating the menus.Awesome gas monitor overall! I have no doubt of its abilities to actually detect gas because of the huge sensors that are present on it, as well as the array of features and options built into it.

This feels like a very valuable piece of kit to have on hand. It comes in it's own box which makes it feel very expensive. We've tested it out and it's relatively simple to use and to follow the instructions. Very quick response time as well for readings.

This is a well-designed, easy to use gas detector that is primarily designed to be worn in situations where the user needs to be warned if they are in an unsafe gas situation. The manual is well-written and covers a wide range of parameters including the ability to re-zero, to calibrate, and to set alarm values, but for the most-part the factory-default settings were all I needed (See photo of factory default settings). Some of the menus are even password protected to allow only designated users to vary the parameters of gas detection. I particularly like the 12 hour battery life and the ability to recharge the battery with a USB-A cable (though one will most-likely need to use the included cable since the connector on the device end is not USB-C). I also like that it comes with a convenient carrying case. I ordered this detector to be able to test heating parameters in my van-camping set-up. I own a small, propane gas heater similar to this one: https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Heater-F232000-Indoor-Safe-Portable/dp/B002G51BZU/ref=sr_1_5?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.k6wacd0ySMiP5x4Whh1TM9dWCEzpnpB1sHbOcKl5mDGx0nLKkKdO8BRz_MPm_cev9q2eXBLWvQ6NlHEXtPLJzFYIilY3adEPS2hqgmY9rYJDZDv-DgtX1-iew5vyrl8W4wVQRURHDaPYwb2fmbvX4Q-NrRtzL9mmmgVDD34eqkLelmk4VEERikDpvtKMEeMu8mZ7TdR1SzPXi5vJDdc7C3YWWZP-PnjrUBfYeA4-BsaPztf1-aCZ32X2NRGFRS_h8X4Eraeo82jA5ej1vPldRn98fyBnrrI0RMWTU6sCKCzkhd2-uqcBMfTk-STb221SvNy-IQP3mbCR9uTyNaJqG9j8OOWOPcmaVJpmD0kEN0yARwlX50K3v30js7IeT1zLgIQUGHqe1Dj7v7ieQrssf1nlkkaBFYDQ-_fG7hcIRnvjc3zFmGUeHI_naTh-hf9r.HFUbwFtnbtpkClnhOaQrllhTfmks72xaic0xeUEPlCc&dib_tag=se&keywords=portable%2Bcamping%2Bheater&qid=1734645552&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.9fe8cbfa-bf43-43d1-a707-3f4e65a4b666&th=1 but was not sure if I had worked out a safe ventilation arrangement. I used the gas detector to measure Oxygen and Carbon Monoxide percentages, with my ventilation system in active (fans running) or passive (vents open without fans), as well as to measure the gas concentrations when the heater is on high vs. low output. The gas detector was very easy to use (basically it comes with factory-presets that allow one to easily measure safe gas concentrations). I particularly liked that it was easy to clip the detector in different spots (Front to back or High to Low) in my van and see if the quality of the air was affected in different places. I learned a couple of interesting, though not completely unexpected things. First, my air quality was much better with my ventilation system in active mode (fans on). Secondly, I found that the oxygen levels varied enough from floor to ceiling level that I could trigger the low oxygen alarm if the detector was near the ceiling and the ventilation fans were off. I also discovered that my heater, when run on low or very low output settings produced significantly higher levels of carbon monoxide (due to incomplete combustion). One thing to note, the manual indicates that the sensor Life is 2 years, and the unit has a warranty of three years according to the Amazon page.

The charging port is USB mini. Not micro, but the even older mini. That's pretty inconvenient, I don't really have any other devices left that still use that connector. It's a strange choice for a device sold in 2024.The device feels reasonably rugged, the shell and buttons feel solid. It has quite a serious industrial belt clip that really wants to bite. There's also a ring, presumably you could rig something to suspend it.We're not equipped to check accuracy or calibration. But we did confirm it can detect the 3 dangerous types of gases:-a spray of isopropyl alcohol for LEL,-a tiny whiff of H2S from my washing machine's drain,-CO from a car exhaust. The readings seemed to make sense and the alarms did trigger. You also get faster beeps for higher concentrations. And it vibrates and flashes as well.It does an extensive self-test on start up.I own an LEL sensor and a CO sensor as two separate devices, but having a single combined device for monitoring is more practical.I also got this because I was curious about O2 levels.I've seen cheap CO2 sensors (which this one doesn't do), but never had my hands on an O2 sensor.I'm curious to understand whether a stuffy indoor room has mesurably less O2 than the outdoors. So far though, the O2 levels seem to not fluctuate very much.In terms of safety though, I guess it should notice if the proportion of O2 reduces because of some other gas.The battery life of 10-15 hours is good for a work day.My other CO detector will last more than a day on its battery though, and can also work while plugged in, which this one can't.So this model is less appropriate for round-the-clock continuous monitoring e.g. at home / camping. The charging time of 5 hours is fine if you assume you charge overnight.Noteworthy things to consider from the manual: the sensor's lifespan is only two years. You should supposedly also calibrate it regularly, at least once a year.An accessory is provided that looks to be intended to connect a tube for exposing the sensor to gas from a cylinder.(The menu password for the calibration section is 69.)I imagine all serious monitors are like this, but this is more trouble than I imagined.
