Really good CO detector, battery lasts over a week per charge. Alarm sounds loud and clear when tested. Clip fits secure on work belt or pocket. Used it near boiler recently, picked up small leak straight away. Red light flashes bright if levels go up. Vibrates strong enough to notice through thick clothes. Survived accidental drop from ladder. Readings match the expensive council detector. Comes with USB charger cable. Very pleased. Would certainly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A well-made device that comes in a strong case that will hold additional accessories. It's extremely simple to use. I read the instructions but everything is very intuitive as it only tests for one compound. I love that it has an internal rechargeable battery and that the display shows the battery's state of charge. I've run the device for 6-8 hours so far and the battery level is still at maximum. The display is good quality with clear text and a backlight that can be toggled off or on. It's small and light (comparable to a small smartphone) and has a good clip for attaching to the exterior of clothing or gear.I first tried testing it in my apartment and it wouldn't show anything above 0 ppm, which is great. I figured it should detect some CO in my building's parking garage and it did. It ranged from 0-6 ppm in the garage. Also, when I start up my old car and turn the cabin heating on, it sometimes gives off a gassy smell for a couple minutes. So I tested it in the car after it had been off for a long time and the engine and catalytic converter were cold. The device showed that CO levels briefly peaked at 17 ppm before dropping back down to 0. The readings update every few seconds.So overall it seems like a well-made and reliable device that's also easy to take with you into situations where you may be exposed to CO. It could also be used as a home CO detector although you'd have to remember to charge it regularly (perhaps weekly) or leave it plugged in.

This gas detector impresses from the start by looking workmanlike, really professional. It comes in a purpose made case, snugly cacooned in a hard shell, complete with a belt clip, great for protecting the detector when not in use. Even the outer box packaging looks well designed.Whilst waiting for the detector to recharge (took about 30 minutes with the supplied USB cable), I actually read the manual, it is that well written. Definitely worth the time, everything needed appears to be succinctly covered.When switched on, the detector has a pleasant backlit LCD display with assorted icons to give status and readings. Everything is reasonably simple to understand. It takes 30 seconds from switch on to initialise the unit ready for measurement/detection of gas.And there I hit a problem; no CO in the home, fortunately. At least that aligns with my boiler CO monitor which says the same thing.Over the years, I’ve bought a variety of test meters, for all manner of diy measurements. This TopTes CO meter stands with the best of them, if you have a particular use for a portable CO monitor.
