When I ordered, I think there were specs on the accuracy, but now, no specs. Given the price, it does appear accurate as I did some careful measurements. Over several days, I had a few drinks and put the amounts into an online calculator that took into account weight and gender, and it provided a graph of the decrease in BAC% over time. I tested periodically after each drink and followed the expected values very well. If I had a larger or smaller drink, the results came back accordingly. When getting below 0.01%, sometimes it would read zero as stated in manual. Sometimes I would get a bit of variation, so I would suggest testing twice just to be sure.The display was readable, but a bit difficult at times. I think it is individual LEDs on the circuit board lighting up the number segments and there is slight glare.Easy to use, install batteries. Push on a mouthpiece. Push the power button, wait about 20 seconds. Once it starts beeping, blow into the mouthpiece for about 5 seconds until it stops beeping. Look at your BAC reading. Done. It will shut itself off, or press the power button again to do another test.While the BAC calculator could do the job for some, it can't take into account drinks over several hours very well. This tester will let you know. But, make sure you are well below the allowed limit. Some states are 0.08% and some are 0.04% and can depend on type of license like CDL.

This unit is straight forward and easy to use. Follow the included instructions to get the best possible testing result. Swish out your mouth with water and then don’t eat or drink anything for at least 15 minutes prior. This will help clear out the “surface” alcohol left in your mouth and test more of the alcohol that’s truly in your breath sample.The tester doesn’t appear to be DOT certified for professional use but could probably be utilized for non-commercial use to see if a more accurate test is warranted. I don’t know, though.I’ll be using this at home for gatherings of friends & family… it could be just the tool to use to convince a loved one that they truly shouldn’t be on the road and to let someone take the keys.
