I didn't really know what to expect for the "holofoil". It's more like sparkles than holofoil, and covers the entire playmat, which is fine, if you like that, but it's not my style. The sparkles DO NOT flake off or stick up above the surface. NOICE! They are embedded in the layers, and there appears to be a finishing layer on the top.*Because no one had included pictures of the foil in a review, I did.*The quality seems nice and sturdy, but it IS thicker than typical ultra pro playmat, so rolling it up will be a little tighter. Overall, great product, and the colors in the work have a nice contrast and saturation.
