This is such a fun idea for my little boy who loves all of the fight scenes from star wars and the like that he can now recreate! However I was slightly disappointed at the bland and plain packaging it came in given that it states that it is a toy so you would think aimed at children and was hoping that it would be exciting to open as a a gift for him.It comes in the plain box (as in my pic) so is a little boring and doesnt instantly depict the contents.Other than that he loves it but just wish it had come in better packaging especially if you were thinking about buying this as a gift.

Become one with your inner jedi! Ok its no the most expensive / flashy saber, but it works well, lots of colours to choose from, its quite heavy so feels substantial and easy to charge the battery too. It has lovely sound effects. Not baaad at all!!

A cool light sword that switches colors with the press of the button.It is a lovely sensory stimulating toy that my kids enjoy playing with tremendously.One star off for the buzzing noise it makes when its on.And another star off for the battery that needs charging separately- it is rather annoying...

I was so pleased with this little light sword. The build quality of the handle is made of knurled metal which reminds me of the sturdy high powered torches which are so prevalent on Amazon nowadays. It is also similarly powered by a 18650 battery which is tucked away in the handle and can be accessed by unscrewing the bottom of the handle. You are provided with a hex key and initially thought I had to undo the grub screws to get to the battery but it is not necessary. In that respect, I do not know why you have a hex key here - possibly for repairs?The "light sword" also comes with a cheapish battery charger with USB-A plug which does the job but I have other chargers that I will probably use instead of this one. The sword itself lights up beautifully when the button is pressed. You can cycle through colours by a single button push, a double push will activate a constant flickering mode but the standard mode was perfect for me. The sword makes that classic electrical strobe sound and will make an impact sound when you strike on an object or another sword. Three pushes of the button will make the sword silent.The sword section feels like a strong plastic and I am sure it will have decent impact resistance but care should still be taken not to damage the plastic. Even so, I do think it is a robust little toy with sounds and lighting effects which should satisfy most sci fi fans but do bear in mind the size which may not be as full-sized as some may like for cos play or conventions. For my young kids, this was an absolutely brilliant toy.

My 7 year old really likes Star Wars, so I thought I'd get him this light saber to try out, and he loves it!It features a built in rechargeable battery that you must remove and place into the included charger to recharge - for me, it came with plenty of charge in the battery to get a lot of use.Build quality is great, with a nice solid-feeling metal hilt that feels great to hold.Features two light modes - static and flashing. Static includes basic sound effects that play in a loop, with colours being switched via a button pressed. Offers quite a lot with my favourites being blue and green. Flashing is as described, and is activated via a double tap of the button - it will strobe with your currently selected colour and play clashing sound effects. You can triple tap to mute the sound completely.If you whack this light saber hard enough, it does react with a sound effect and flashing lights, though it does take a lot of force!For £20, it's a great ood budget saber, though for those with fancy LED effects and more reactive effects, you'll be paying hundreds!
