I wanted to buy cheaper version but then I found this. It was a bit more but it looked like a better quality product on photos. I went for it and bought it. Not disappointed at all. I am actually surprised that such a good quality steel is still being made. Did a great job rasing my handle bars to the correct height. Game changer as my back, neck and wrists won't heart now. Thanks

This was a brilliant find and adaptation for the mountain bike. We were looking at replacing the bike, which was otherwise perfect, except the handlebars were too low. But problem solved a brilliant invention. Yes, it looks a bit chunky, but who cares - no more backache.

I bought this to stop pins and needles in my wrists due to low handlebar and high seat position, it's very well made and adds a considerable height to the bars. Easy to fit and set up but can look a little ugly due to the overly large M8 bolts on the side, there are issues as others have pointed out on here that the centre cap bolt doesn't sit flush and the cap cover turns as tightening said bolt.I found there is a small shoulder on the top of the M6 bolt this is the cause of the issue (see photo) this can be easily rectified by either replacing the bolt as I did or by opening the hole in the cap to 6.5mm, now it doesn't sit proud anymore. I would recommend this stem raiser and at the time was the cheapest on the net without buying an unknown brand!

I use a road bike for normal rides and a tourer for the longer rides. I was experiencing numbness in my fingers and pains in my arms when riding either bike. From searching on the internet, I read many cyclists experienced similar problems and the problem was due to my weight coming down through straight arms onto the handle bars. The solution is to raise the handle bars. I searched the internet and read various reviews and also searched which cycle shops fitted what brand, and found this make was the one preferred by most. And I can see why, it is well made, achieves a good fit and is stable on the stem of the forks and excellent value for money. There are some extremely useful YouTube videos for those who do not feel competent to tackle this task. It is fiddly but straightforward. You will only need a 4mm and 5mm hex. Loosening the front brake cable is a must. The other key thing to remember is to keep nuts of this stem riser and the handlebar loose when tightening the stem bolt. Otherwise you are tightening the stem bolt against the riser and could end up pulling the star bolt out of the fork stem. Do not over tighten the stem bolt, a force of 4-6N is recommended, just enough to take the play out of the headset bearing. There are clear instructions provided but I recommend watching the YouTube videos first. The task took 30 minutes. The proof is that I no longer get pain or numbness on a ride of 50-60 miles and can now enjoy cycling again. I read the two negative reviews, I accept their comments as being honest, but I found no evidence to support their comments.

This is a good piece of kit. It does exactly what it says it should do. It adds height to the modern stem bikes. When fitted it blends in with the existing stem and does not detract from the look of the bike.Even when using all of the provided spacers the central bolt still reaches to the to frame and tightens securely.Adds a good 5 inches of height, though remember that you will be placing your handlebars on top of the spacers in the picture so it is not total the height you get unless you have curved bars.Solid construction and easy to fit. Remember not to be ham fisted when tightening the bolts, yes they are seemingly soft metal, but do not need to be overtightened. Use a torque wrench if not sure. I suggest giving them a reasonable tightening and after the first ride checking again to see that they have remained tight if you are not sure and no not want to damage the bolt heads.
