Useful information about how to reach awkward spaces to do routine work, like changing bulbs, replacing battery etc. that are often difficult if you don’t know how to dismantle items.

The book gives a good overview, but I often end up searching videos on the internet anyway. Some explanations are a bit vague. For things like "pull this plastic cover", you want to be sure to pull correctly so small parts won't break and I feel the small pictures are not always enough for that.I'm not even a good amateur mechanic, so I don't even try to do a lot of what is in the book. What got me to write a comment is :My high level brake light is not working. I look in the book, I remove the screws, they are correctly shown in the pictures (except those holding the plastic cover are not present on my car) then "Pull the housing from the hatch and disconnect the electrical connector (see illustration) Twist the bulbholders anti-clockwise, then renew the bulbs"The book doesn't say what kind of bulb, so I have to open to look but I pull the housing and ... there is no bulb-holder to twist, it doesn't open. You have to replace the whole thing.How did this error end up in the book ? As far as I can tell, no beetle has bulbs there.

This manual refers to left hand drive cars. The wiring diagrams did not represent my vehicle, so not all UK spec models are covered.
