Having looked at other carriers, many of the features I wanted are on fairly expensive models. Right now I am training my bird to tolerate being in the carrier. (That’s a food stick in with him.) The zipper can stick a little, but that seems to become less of a problem with more use. The plastic window had a strong odor when I first got it, but some time in sunlight got that to an acceptable level. I like the fact that there is a shade that can be let down over the plastic window if there’s a need to reduce solar heating. My bird likes the included perch. Not sure of what would be the use for a short interior strap with a clasp, but I place a stainless steel cup inside with seeds to get the bird into the carrier. A place to attach that and a water supply would be nice, but I can work around that for the savings this pack gave me over fancier models. It’s comfortable to carry, well-ventilated, and I am looking forward to some enjoyable moments hiking with my bird buddy.
