Before ordering this Waveshare capacitive touch display, I overlooked it's intended mostly for Luckfox Pico Ultra W. But it also a positive thing! Because it made me aware of its existence. I then ordered the Luckfox microcomputer board (costing only around 15 EUR if you're lucky), discovering it's a good alternative to ESP or Pico. The documentation isn't as great as Raspberry, but it's capable device and with some trial and error I got this screen to work, outputting some basic data from my test app. The screen quality is great, vivid colors and extremely sharp (high resolution on a small area). Then I started to be curious if I can use this touch display with Raspberry, where I'm much more experienced, and I found that it can be used, I just have to use some libraries to talk to it; that's my next goal. But according to my extensive research, it really should be possible, and some of the libraries even claim to reach enough FPS to be usable for 8bit/16bit games, building a small gaming console. The screen itself arrived well packaged, like always with Waveshare, and my impression from the build is good. The soldering and boards are neat. If you have Luckfox, or are adventurous enough to program RGB display output on Raspberry via individual pin i/o, my impression is this is a great screen.
