The RPi Relay Board (B) is an expansion board with 8-ch relays for Raspberry Pi. It gives your Pi the ability to control high voltage products such as home appliances.

I bought this relay board to use with OpenSprinkler to control my 6 sprinkler zones.After lightning had destroyed my old Orbit controller, I wanted something I could control cheaply and easily using OpenSprinkler and Home Assistant. This board worked perfectly after some tinkering.It took some time to find the documentation for the pins and settings so I'm including it here to save any future buyers (or my future self) some time:(Note that these pin settings are for a Raspberry Pi Model B)WaveshareChannel RPi Pin GPIO1 29 52 31 63 33 134 36 165 35 196 38 207 40 218 37 26(Rain sensor) 8 14You need to configure each station type to "GPIO" and set the active state to LOW.Update after 20 months: relay 3 appears to be stuck on. I tested my sprinklers this spring and was surprised to see station 3 on and not controllable. Not a huge deal as I was able to use relay 6 in its place.

Gerät funktioniert ohne Probleme. Relais werden nach eine weile im dauerbedrieb warm. Ob es ein Problem auf dauer darstellt, das weiß ich nicht.Ich habe mir das Produkt gekauft damit ich ein paar Steckdosen anschließend Alexa Steuern kann. Das Programmieren ist mir bis jetzt aufgrund mangelnder Zeit noch nicht gelungen. Aber es lässt sich auch wunderbar mit einer Raspberry pi App steuern.

Diese Relaisplatine arbeitet Out of the Box und lässt sich mit etwas Python Code einfach ansprechen. Auch die App "RaspController" arbeitet damit zusammen. Nachteil finde ich, dass der Raspi über Kopf draufsteckt. Also man kann danach keine Platinen mehr draufstecken, oooder man steckt erst alle anderen Hats und am Ende die Relaisplatine. Für meine Anwendung als Steuersystem für andere Stromkreise sehr gut. Wobei ich die 220V Stromkreise über Hilfsrelais steuere. Die Relais auf der Platine sind für 220V ausgelegt aber ich will nicht testen wieviel Ampere sie vertragen. Prima finde ich, dass keine Hilfsenergie zum Betrieb der Relais nötig ist. Es reicht der Strom vom Raspi.

Funktioniert einwandfrei auch unter Falcon FPP. Rasberry pi zero, ist jedoch nicht wirklich geeignet. Ich empfehle eher einen rasberry pi 3b als minimum.

Damit läßt sich der Raspi durch aufstecken auf dieses Expansion Board sehr einfach erweitern für die Ansteuerung von bis zu 8 Relais, welche Umschalter besitzen und für 230V geeignet sind. Ansteuerung sehr einfach mit node-red. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!
