So I've got the difficult task of teaching a bunch of teens first aid. Kindergartners are easy...they love using hand sanitizer and putting on bandaids. But teens find it all one big eye roll. So I've started using a variety of techniques like this incredibly disturbing and cool working model of a wound. I also enjoy using make up, fake [broken] tooth, etc. I don't try to trick the kids. Instead, I divide them into groups and give them their supplies and what they are going to demonstrate and treat it more like an improv class. They LOVE it.This particular device was a real hit! Everyone wanted to be the team that got to use it. It comes with some lovely fake blood powder that you mix with water and squirt through the wound with a syringe. It was convincingly disgusting and everyone loved it! This will continue to be a high point for my students, I'm sure!Also, if you teach first aid or science or health, I find this method works well with all age groups. But the teens tend to be the zaniest while still maintaining some logical plotline.

I was under the impression it allows you to pack wound cavity , but it’s only a surface wound direct pressure only
