The machine is surprisingly good for such a tiny cheap thing! Just learn to use it properly. Theres a learning curve but nothing practice can’t fix.Not great for doing large batches at once, but fantastic for small projects. I use on my warhammer minis and it works great!

I bought this kid specifically for the air pump. I only played with the included airbrush a bit but it's alright for a cheap one. I use this air pump with a neo CX for being and cake decorating. The pump is incredibly quiet, light and small. The battery runs down fast but also charges incredibly fast. With my old clunky plug in air pump I couldn't easily control the pressure and had a tendency to pull it off the table with the curly air hose. I can put this pump in my shirt pocket while I'm using it!

I've been an airbrush artist for over 40 years and I've used and tested a LOTof airbrushes in that time-some were great and some were crap. Today I received theXDOVET Upgraded 32PSI Airbrush Kit. I wanted to evaluate the compressor and theincluded airbrush. My fiancé wants to have a basic airbrush for doll and figurepainting. I wanted to run this thing through some various tests to see if it wouldwork for her. She wanted a small, easy to use compressor and airbrush that wouldn'ttake up a lot of room and wouldn't make a lot of noise. I thought this unit mightbe perfect for her, so I ordered the XDOVET.I got it one day after ordering it. I was first very impressed with the packaging. It arrived in a large, black box with the words Next Box along with the Xdovet logo. The lid is held shut with magnets, not a cheap plastic box. Inside were the compressor,a type C USB cord for charging, a six foot airbrush hose, an airbrush cleaning kit, aa plastic eye dropper and a small wrench (or 'spanner' for my British friends) toremove and clean the nozzle. There is also a rather large instruction pamphlet.First, the airbrush. When you pick it up, it feels different than thestandard low-cost airbrushes on the market. It has a little more weight and looksand back end is more sculpted than usual; feels nice. The trigger is back from thepaint cup far enough to make much easier to control. It just feels good in my hand.It comes with a .4mm needle and nozzle. I decided to test it right outof the box with no adjustments first. I looked at the needle with a microscopeand it isn't bad. It was a little smoother than most of the units I've evaluated. The first paint I put through it was some Liquitex Muted Green Acrylic Ink. I was ableto do a large spray about 2 to 3 inches wide and could get close and make a clean, thin line about 2mm wide, which isn't bad. There was a little spitting when I workedreally close, but I was running it at its highest pressure, so that was expected. Iturned the compressor down to its lowest setting and it helped a lot. But I knew itcould do better.I then removed the needle and nozzle and gave them both a good polishing with variousdiamond lapping pastes and finished with Flitz metal polish.I used it again with the same paint the results were like night and day! I couldmake a controlled thin line less than 1mm wide. There was no spitting or spidering. After polishing, this is a fantastic airbrush that works as well as the much moreexpensive Paasche brushes I use. Seriously, it is an impressive little airbrush.I've run both acrylic and lacquer paints as well as watercolor paint and blackink through it with no problems. The paint cup is removable which really helps when cleaning. Included are 4 differentcups- a CC Capacity Cup, a 6CC cup, a 12CC Cup and a large 24CC Capacity Cup. Youcould also just remove the cup and drip paint right into the brush, which is perfectfor fingernail or doll artists. I keep the 2cc cup on the airbrush; it's just the wayI paint. Now, on to the Compressor. The unit itself is quite small, about 2.5x3.5x1.5 inches. Itweighs right about 9oz. It has touch switches to turn on the power and adjust the airpressure. It took me awhile to realize that I needed to hold my finger on the lower leftarea to have the unit turn on. The buttons then light up; the power button on the left, the air pressure button on the right and an indicator of the pressure level you are usingand the battery level. There is a recharging port (type C USB cable needed and included)and it only takes about 20 minutes to charge. The ad says you get about 30 minutes ofcontinuous work before needing charging. I've found that in a real-world setting, it canlast up to an hour, because I'm not spraying constantly. If you don't want to recharge it every 30 minutes, it will work constantly if you keep itplugged in to a charger (not included.) I just left it plugged in and used it for a couplehours with no problems. It does continue to recharge even if you use it while plugged in.There are 4 different air pressure levels. I tested it with an air pressure gauge and gota pretty accurate 20, 26, 31 and 36 pounds air pressure. Obviously, the battery leveldrops faster when using the highest pressure. The compressor only runs while you are painting. The sensor inside is very fast. It runs nearly as quickly as if it were connected to afull sized compressor. While running, even at full pressure, the compressor is incredibly quiet. I had my tabletrunning a TV show in the background and I couldn't even hear the compressor running. To sum up, this may be the best deal out there for a beginner. An excellent compressor andairbrush for $80 bucks is a steal. A regular user could keep this as a perfect backupunit and, if you travel a lot to do airbrushing demo's or for whatever reason, this wouldbe a great unit to take with you. A lot lighter and quieter than a normal compressor. Itwill be the perfect unit for my fiancé and I can easily see a much more experiencedairbrush user using the XDOVET.This is a great airbrush and compressor combo for the price. Is it the same as usinga large tank compressor or a CO2 tank? No, but the thing is that it works, it works welland I can easily see an intermediate or advanced airbrush artist using this littlecompressor. Overall, I'm excited to teach my fiancé how to use an airbrush and this willbe the perfect unit for her to use.
