At the time, this hangboard by ‘YY Vertical’ is $114.I’m quite impressed with it overall. It’s a natural rubberwood with sturdy cord (not sure what it’s made of). Packaging wise it had a simple cardboard insert and heavy brown paper wrapping, so it all feels very environmentally friendly while maintaining a high quality.I wasn’t sure how it was going to work at first, but the clever way its corded allows it to be rotated and tilted and then locks in once you load pressure into it. So with a simple system it allows for a great deal of variety. I’m using a little nylon strap and a carabiner to let me attach it to my pull-up bar, but you can attach it to pretty much any anchor point that will support you and lets this be quite portable and versatile.Attaching at a single point does leave a decent length of cord attached so depending on how high your anchor point is your knees may be on the floor. Looping the cord a few times around a bar to shorten it unfortunately leads to you losing the ability to adjust it.I feel like there are a few difficulty levels that jump pretty significantly, but there are definitely a few pretty easy to a few very difficult holds.

This hangboard is great for training grip strength and practicing various rock climbing grips. It’s also great for working on calisthenics and different muscles for pull ups and really helps to strengthen overall and challenge your body. The wood that this is made of is high quality and smooth. I love the variety of grips and angles you can get. You can really practice combinations and mix things up. Just make sure you have it knotted and secured well.

My family and I were just starting to get into climbing serously when Covid hit. We are just now (years later) refinding our love of climbing. The YY Vertical climbing hangboard is helping us get back into top climbing form. The hangboard itself is beautifully crafted; the wood finish is really nice. There are all kinds of depth options for your fingers as well. My wife and I have to hang with our feet on the ground bearing a bit of body weight, but my 'monkey' 10 year old daughter can free hang, which makes me quite envious. I do hope I build up to some free hanging and even some pull-ups/chin-ups. I also like that you have options on how you hang the board itself. You can hand it on one carabiner and have more challenge in balancing, or you can hang it on two carabiners that distributes the weight a bit more. Having this handboard in our basement will definitely help our grip strength for climbing. I am looking forward to getting back into climbing shape.Lots of options with this product. Very well made, very high quality! Highly recommended!

I've hung this climbing hangboard in my home gym to improve my grip strength and it was a wonderful addition to my home gym. I've been doing pull ups for years now and figured i have good grip strength, however this hangboard is on a whole different level, and has humbled me.I can barely last a few seconds at a time as my fingers are not condition to hang my body, however i am doing many short sets throughout the day to improve my performance. The borad has really fine detailed grooves which are perfect for it's designed purpose.Overall very happy with and the setup was very easy as i had a bar to hang it from so i didn't need to spend time setting anything up that took more than 5 minutes.Love it!

I currently have this hanging from the top of my pulley machine until I install a proper ceiling mount. Just like the last product I ordered from YY Vertical, this one is top notch. I believe this specific one is an evolution of "La Baguette" product, which I've also used in the past. It seems to be more versatile by providing more grip options compared to its predecessor. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, the "Turn & Pull System," as they call it, is genuinely clever and gives you access to a range of hold depths by simply rotating the board. It’s not something I’ll be using heavily just yet since 15mm is already a challenge for me, but I’m hoping to improve over time. It also feels a bit more difficult than a conventional hangboard because there’s more stabilizing involved during each hang. Honestly, it baffles me that some people would train using the 8 or 6mm holds on this thing. The wood has a nice grit to it, and using a bit of chalk helped as expected. The baguette shape makes this much more compact than a traditional hangboard which is the main part of its appear, which is great for travelling with (i.e. bringing it with you for pre-climbing warm-up) or just for smaller living spaces. It also comes pre-rigged with rope, which is a nice touch. I could imagine re-threading it being a bit confusing, so it’s great to not have to worry about that.So yeah, easy 5 star for me : it’s a high-quality, portable training tool that is perfect for working on grip strength between sessions. I'm actually quite excited to have this new addition in my home gym. Highly recommended for climbers who want to train in between climbing sessions, or just for individuals like me who no longer actively climb but who want to grow their grip/finger strength.
