A few tips for you--keep a spare at all times-reinforce w/iron on patches if you have a cone biter-treat train so they don't mind the cone-get a second collar of a different color to keep threaded through the cone, so his main collar w/ID tags stays on him at all times.-when in doubt too long is better than too short. Too short and they might be able to mess with themselves. We take the cone off before going outside for supervised yard visits and when we get back in we put it right back on w/treats.Longer version-We always have at least one new one of these on hand as a back up, in addition to the one our dog is wearing, and maybe even a third. This is because if your dog vomits on it you want to be able to swap it out with another one quickly. Then you hand wash / spot clean the soiled area with soap and water and hang to dry. Once I machine washed a cone but that weakened it too much. So now I spot clean only.We used to have a dog that worked to bite through the cone, so once I got tired of buying so many cones I ironed on patches to reinforce the areas he would bite and that worked great to discourage him and prolong the life of the cone. I wish I had figured out the iron on patch trick much sooner.With our second dog needing a cone we got smart and from the very first time we'd give him a treat right as the cone is going on, so he wants to push his head through putting the cone on to get that treat. Then for a while we even gave him a second treat right away once the collar was on so he only associates getting the cone on with treats.I considered trying a different design but I like that this has some see through ability on the sides, and it's softer if he likes to follow behind you and bash the cone into your legs. Just make sure you get a big enough size so it's long enough. We use a large for beagles.

Mon chien devait porter une collerette suite à une opération de l'oreille, et c'était l'enfer, il se faisait mal au cou à force que la collerette se coince dans tout et lui tire la tête sur le côté.Problème réglé avec cette collerette souple ! Non seulement ça, mais il a pu renifler à nouveau le sol en balade, et recevoir plus de câlins ! Je recommande vivement ce produit.

I got this last minute as my diabetic blind dog was having cataract surgery which was successful. The Zen cone was awesome and more comfortable than plastic worth every cent.

Der Kragen ist für einen Neufundländer - Dickschädel mit Plüsch - zu knapp im Umfang. Ich bekomme das Klettband nur zu 70 % geschlossen. Wegen einer Stirnhöhlenentzündung wurden 2 Löcher in die Stirn gebohrt. Da kommt er mit dem Kragen nicht dran. Da das Klettband nicht ganz schließt, ist es bereits einmal aufgegangen. Ist aber nichts passiert. Der Kragen ist für den Hund angenehmer als der Plastikkragen und auch schonender für die Wohnung. Je nach Kopf des Hundes ist es aber durchaus möglich, dass er an irgendwelche Körperteile dran kommt. Bei uns muss nur verhindert werden, dass er sich an der Stirn kratzt. Das funktioniert soweit. Der Hersteller sollte unbedingt eine größere Variante anbieten.

Ich bin endlos enttäuscht. Hat nichtmal bis zum Fädenziehen überlebt. Das Ding ist so weich dass es ständig umklappte und umknickte. Der Hund konnte sich die Bauchnarbe aufknabbern und wir hatten richtig Probleme mit Wundinfektion und offener Narbe. Man müsst den Hersteller auf Schadensersatz verklagen. Ich kann nur davon abraten. Ständig klappt der Kragen um und knautscht.

Pro: weich, bequem (Hund liegt gemütlich in allen Positionen), Hund haut nicht überall dagegen wie mit dem Plastiktrichter vom Tierarzt, Hund wirkt glücklich, Hund sieht aus wie eine Blume damit 😂Con: Hund kann sich immer noch beissen - siehe Foto. (Er hat starken Juckreiz im Lendenbereich, und beisst sich ständig auf. Bis wir der Ursache auf den Grund kommen soll er einen Trichter tragen.) Das Material ist zu dünn, er kommt super mit den Zähnen durch. Nach nicht mal 24 Stunden hat er es schon so beschädigt, dass er nach einem weiteren Tag wieder bluten würde und das Ding ein Loch hätte.
