This pepper spray alarm is so small and easy to stash anywhere. In my bag, my purse, or even my pocket. It is also small enough to use with ease, even when I have only one hand available. There’s a small safety lid that prevents you from spraying accidentally, but it also doesn’t get in the way when it’s time to spray. The alarm is pretty loud, too. I appreciate having this when I’m out and about.

This is one of those things that you just have some version of, if you happen to be a female. I like this one because it has three functions in one and saves you from having to carry separate items. The alarm on this device is not as loud as the one on the birdies. I absolutely cannot tolerate the birdie alarm, I literally recoil when I hear it (it's something about the frequency and my ears) but with this one even though it's super loud I don't have the same reaction. Frankly, the purpose of the alarm is to alert others that there is a problem, so I'd rather have an alarm that doesn't leave me needing an ambulance. The pepper spray is probably the most useful feature. It is protected by a "lid" of sorts that means you can't accidentally press it and take your own eyes out. I haven't tried using it (gratefully have had no need for it) but I always feel much better when I'm with it, especially on night walks with my dog (a fluffy ball of fear that gigantic poorly behaved dogs love to terrorize). The strobe light is frankly not particularly useful but I also don't imagine I'm going to need it particularly, other than to signal where I might be, so not an issue for me. The alarm comes with a keychain hanging on it and you can also put it in a little velvet bag. The velvet bag is a bit of a head scratcher for me because a. it's a bit tight, so getting the spray part of the alarm in there takes some effort and b. by the same token, taking the alarm out of the bag can unnecessarily delay you in a moment of real need (although I will say the velvet pouch will come in handy if you're trying to get into a NY theater and security is looking to confiscate items like this, not that this has ever happened to me). Of course, you don't need to use the velvet pouch, it's more of a courtesy than anything else. I recommend practicing turning this thing on and off when you're not in danger, so you know what and how to do if and when you need it (the hope being that you never will need it).

There is a lot to like about this pepper spray gel defense spray. I like the addition of the siren and light, which is very loud and disorienting. I love that it's rechargeable and refillable (less waste) and that it comes with two different key chain attachments. It also comes with a pamphlet with a lot of different information which I really appreciate. The highlights for this particular model are that it contains about 10 ml or .33 oz of liquid which is equal to 23, 1 second burst. Capsicum is listed at 1.3% oc which falls about mid range of what's used (up to 3%) is most sprays. (Law enforcement uses 1.3%-2%. There are also some complexities to the rating percentages so it's worth looking up if you are really interested.) One charge lasts a year for the lights and alarm but to maintain the non-replaceable battery it is recommended to charge it every 3 months. There is a red indicator light that should come on if the battery gets too low. The pepper gel spray has a shelf life of 4 years although the seller recommends replacing the bottle yearly or after you have used it once to ensure max potency and that you have enough product. They do say to only use their replacement cans in case you want to factor that info in. (There is a manufacture date on the bottle. Mine was for mid Dec. and I received the item in mid Feb. so it seems to be a very fresh product.). Other highlights that are similar to a lot of these types of products are: they can't be left in a hot car, must be checked to fly, works up to 10 ft away and you want to aim for the eyes and then leave the area. This does contain a dye as well as the gel irritant to help identify an attacker. I'd also say that it is slightly longer than my previous keychain models but still a reasonable size to carry. The part that I am not thrilled about is the alarm switch. It's a tiny little switch on the outside of the spray. For anyone left-handed this might be a benefit, for anyone right handed this makes one-handed operation slightly cumbersome, if not impossible for those with smaller hands. It also seems easy to bump in a purse. It does come with a carrying case that is like a velvet jewelry case feel, so a little thicker but it's also sort of snug around the top/widest part of the spray which is also where the alarm switch is. Is any of this terrible? No. Would I rather it didn't have the feature? Also, no. I would have preferred a pin type of alarm though and I think it would make more sense. I also wish it was waterproof or at least splash proof as I live in an area where it rains frequently and I often take just my keys with me. Everything came in a box that was sealed with a QC pass sticker but my sticker was split or cut? I can't really tell and I am assuming it happened in transit but I can't be sure. I also can't speak to how this works as I am not willing to use it on myself and then have to seek medical attention. Honestly I hope I never have to use it but it does seem to have a lot of great features and it includes lots of information (including contact info for the seller should you need it) which I really appreciate with this type of product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION - 3-in-1 Personal Alarm, with Pepper Spray and Strobe Light, One Button Trigger 3X Protection, Pepper Bottle Replaceable, 130dB Extra Loud Siren, 12ft Pepper Gel, Red Blinding Lights, Women SafetyUNBIASED - Amazon Vine reviewers are not paid for reviews, be it positive or negative. I will never recommend a product I would not buy myself. I treat ALL vendors with respect and fairness but my duty is to You, the Amazon customer. I am an Amazon customer too. I have every reason to be sincere in my reviews. If it is junk or treasure my reviews will reflect the products, I give my word of honor.PERFORMANCE – The 3-in-1 Personal Alarm, with Pepper Spray and Strobe Light by the product description it seems the targeted group is female but can a layer of protection to all. As with most type product this is a deterrent and not something you want to use as a single personal defense weapon. However, anyone on the receiving end of this beauty is going to have a bad day!The specifics are in the product description so let me give you my spin. A tool does the best job when used for it was designed to do. Let’s look at the three in this 3-1 alarm. It has an ear piercing 130 decibels strong directed siren that will make your hair stand on end! I tested and retested and it is very clear that up close and personal it will be very painful. The unit is charged by a USB-C cable and can maintain standby mode up to a year on a charge. The pepper spray itself will shoot up to 23-30 bursts of spray up to 12 feet. I should make clear this is not just a pepper based spray but a gel and trust me it does stick to skin like molasses, keeping the irritating agent on the attacker’s skin instead of dripping off. The product is refillable. I am going to say incapacitation is not the case for all sprayed so deterrent is a better word. I am not saying incapacitation is an impossibility, I am saying don’t bank your life on it. Spray them and scram. The third and final element is the blinding strobe lights. Strobe lights are commonly used by police and military due to its ability to confuse and hamper vision. The trio are combined in an easy to carry unit that can be attached to a key ring. It is small enough to be held and semi concealed in one hand.I would recommend this to anyone as a personal protection DETERRENT, but not a personal defense weapon because it is not a weapon. Treat it with respect and try it, spray it, because it is not much use if you don’t know how to use it or forget at the critical moment. I would like to see some “Proper Use” videos available from the manufacture. The best personal defense is get away.

While this seems like a great protection/device to keep attackers at bay, it's a bit large for small purses. Never had one this size before so my thought is that this is best to keep at home.Useful to keep by one's bedside, by the front door where it's easily accessible, versus carrying it with you. At least I prefer a smaller one to take along.Hard to review without actually USING it in a bad situation, so thankful for that.
