She's a 8.5 ft boa constrictor and she is very fussy. ZooMed is the only substrate that she will 'explore' in. She seems to enjoy the texture. My husband says that it hold moisture without mould or ba teria growth. That is the most important factor.I recommend this highly

Nutze den Mulch um eine gute Luftfeuchtigkeit im Terra zu schaffen. Es gammelt ewig nicht und speichert gut Wasser. Allerdings ist der Preis saftig.Leider gibt es in der Nähe keine Alternative die tiertauglich wäre.Von daher bislang eine gute Kombo gemeinsam mit Humus, Erden oder Coco Husk

This has the perfect consistency for my ball python's enclosure. There is no smell to it and it holds moisture very good to maintain humidity levels. I like that it provides a more natural environment over using paper as a substrate. Very economical as well. I seriously doubt I would ever change products.

This works perfectly for my ball python. It holds humidity better than aspen, and it lasts a long time before it needs completely changed out. I spot clean, then do a full substrate switch every shed or couple of months. It gets dry over time, so every couple weeks I'll pour a cup or two of water in there and mix it around. It's also way cheaper than any substrate at the pet store.I don't feed her in her viv anymore, though, because once a little mulch stick got stuck in her mouth and I had to get it out with tweezers. Aspen might be a better choice if you feed in the viv/tank/whatever. However, she kind of pushes her food around and into the ground when she eats. If your pet just gulps their food down it probably won't be an issue.I have a 55 gallon long aquarium, and usually get about 2 substrate switches out of one bag.The only downside is it's very difficult to see any waste when using this substrate. Everything kind of blends in, so I usually have to use the old smell test when cleaning.
