Die Bauerfeind RhizoLoc Daumenbandage ist, gleichwie die Manutec Daumenbandage, eine Orthese zur Stabilisierung des Daumensattel- und Daumengrundgelenksund und ideal für Verletzungen wie u.a. Seitenbandruptur oder -zerrung (Skidaumen), Rhizarthrose, und Reizungen.Die Bauerfeind RhizoLoc ist sehr komfortabel, stabil und aus atmungsaktivem Material. Die Bandage ist bequem an- und abzulegen. Mittels einer Klettlasche kann die Beweglichkeit des Gelenks eingeschränkt (bis zur Ruhigstellung) und der therapeutischen Behandlung angepasst werden.

Ich habe Arthrose im linken Daumensattel, die sehr schmerzhaft ist. Diese Daumenorthese wurde mir vom Arzt verschrieben und nach längerem täglichen Tragen in der Nacht wurde eine neue Bandage fällig. Ich erhielt nun eine 2. Orthese verschrieben und selbstverständlich habe ich mich wieder für diese von der Firma Bauerfeind entschieden. Sie ist durch den Aluminiumbügel gut an den Daumen anzupassen und stabilisiert so den Daumen sehr gut. Durch mehrere Klettverschlüsse passt sie sich auch gut dem Daumen und dem Handgelenk an. Ich kann die Orthese der Firma Bauerfeind nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen.

I've got 5 wrist braces [different brands] and this was the most expensive one. Liked it at first because it has quite a bit of support even though it doesn't look very substantial compared to some others. I also liked it because it's one of the only serious braces that can fit under a leather glove if you have to work. However, there are 2 major problems with it. One is that it only comes in 2 sizes. I got a large and I have to do one wrap around of ace bandage on my wrist before I put the brace on or it's too loose to have much effect. I haven't tried a small because this one is just a little bit too loose, so I think that the small would probably be too small. The bigger problem is that after wearing it every day for about 2 weeks, the velcro lost it's stickiness and started falling off constantly, so it's pretty much useless to me now. Most injuries like this last about 6 weeks, so I would expect that a brace this expensive would last at least that long or more. For the premium price they're charging, 2 weeks of use is NOT a good value.

Well, its a Bauerfeind so naturally its on the pricey side, but it does work, and that's the lesson here. A lot of thought goes into these products and this one has helped me to overcome the various problems I've been having with my hand. By isolating the movement of the thumb while also restricting the bending at wrist, my thumb pain is reduced and therefore my gripping ability has been improved. If you've been having pain that hasn't been helped with over-the-counter "drug store" remedies, I recommend this brace.
