Ich bin ehrlich gesagt etwas enttäuscht über den Kantenschneider. Zumindest was das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis angeht.Er schneidet sehr gut, aber nur dünne Stofflagen. Jedoch sollte man ihn nur im sehr langsamen Tempo verwenden.Eine Overlock ersetzte natürlich nicht, das hatte ich auch nicht erwartet, aber er erfüllt dennoch nicht meine Erwartungen.

Wenn man keine Overlook hat ist dieser Kantenschneider eine super Alternative. Am Anfang hab ich mir etwas schwer getan mit der Einstellung von Stichlänge und Breite. Habe mir einige Nadeln dabei zerbrochen aber es ist für Kleidung einfach eine tolle saubere Sache. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.Ich hatte mich am Anfang gefragt was der Unterschied zwischen den 5 und 7 mm sind. Es kommt auf die maximale Stichbreite der Nähmaschine an.

Der Kantenschneider funktioniert sehr gut, er schneidet präzise und scharf. Man darf natürlich nicht erwarten, dass er eine Overlock-Maschine ersetzt. Aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt.

The Side Cutter arrived within the advised delivery schedule. It fits our Brother machine and works as expected. This was purchased via Amazon Market Place, Kamakaze, Japan. However, the Amazon description shows the item in Brother packaging as received the item is in a plain zip lock bag. The enclosed information sheet is only in Japanese, no English translation.

I do a lot of dressmaking, but haven't been willing to take the plunge and buy a serger. This foot does a good job of standing in for a serger. The edges are finished nicely and the blade cuts cleanly through a variety of different fabrics. I have used it on knits, denim, cottons, and a silky rayon and it worked well on all of them. I like that it just snaps on, makes for much faster changing of feet. The results aren't as perfect as a serger and it isn't as fast (although the speed is pretty good), but it costs significantly less and doesn't require you to do any complex threading or differential feed adjustments. I have a Brother 350SE and it works great with the overcasting stitch as well as a few other finishing stitches for different fabrics. If you sew a ton of knits, i.e. T-shirts, workout wear, sweaters, then you should probably investing a serger, but for normal dressmakers, this foot is perfect!

I am extremely please with the purchase of this foot. The foot is easy to fit to your machine, you just hook the claw onto the needle clamp and then click the foot in to place the same way you normally put a foot on your machine. You then feed the fabric from the front of the machine to the back through the foot, and the machine will bind the edge while cutting off any excess. The instructions which come with the foot are not very clear, but there are a couple of good videos on you tube which explain it better. It is also a bit slower that an overlocker, however this is perfect alternative to an over locker for those who just want to overlock their home sewing projects, and much cheaper too.
