When I moved I put everything away and all my tech in a separate box. Somehow I lost the original trackball to my corded Kensington optical trackball mouse. So I got a wireless old school mouse. It sputtered and skipped a lot. I decided to go back to the old reliable but the all was missing.Instead of buying a new version of what I already had, I spent $12+ on the ball and all my problems were solved.Be sure to check and double check the sizes. I found different sizes online. When I knew for sure it was 42mm, I finally ordered it. It arrived the next day, and hasn’t had an issue since.Thanks

Ordered this as the default ball for the Kensington orbit (without scroll wheel) is pretty dire - most of them have a dead spot where the colour is completely black in a small section and the rest of the ball pattern doesn't have the best of tracking either. The blue ball from the Kensington orbit with scroll wheel is miles better.Anyway, this works just as well as the blue ball from the orbit with scroll and is also very very smooth. Does the job perfectly. For those who have the older orbits with a red LED optical sensor rather than the IR one, this also eliminated the issues with the mouse pointer not moving when you spin the ball too fast.

Lost the track ball to my kensington mouse I use for traveling. The 40mm ball fit perfectly. Better than buying a new mouse.
