This is a superior quality item any coffee enthusiast would be happy to have - but if you're buying as a gift, be sure the recipient has the correct size portafilter diameter (54mm) for this.It feels lovely in my hand - and is really nicely made, nice and heavy, good quality materials and works very well to ensure coffee grounds are tamped nice and evenly in the basket. It's important not to tamp the coffee at a slope or angle and this device makes that difficult to do.Spring loaded, so it's easy to get the hang of how much pressure you're applying (this comes with repeated use - you won't nail this straight away).I love the concentric circles pattern this tamper leaves in the top of the coffee - some say this is purely decorative and has no other purpose, some say it's so you can see if you have tamped evenly. I'm in the former school of thought.

Erich gesagt hab ich nicht genau gelesen das der Tamper über 500g wiegt und war recht überrascht.Das Tampen klappt sehr gut und das Ergebnis spricht für sich.Feder gelagert, heißt in diesem Fall, dass im Inneren eine Feder ist, die den Tamper wieder nach oben befördert nach dem Tampen. Es ist aber im Inneren eine massive Verbindung nach unten. Der Tamper hört nicht bei einem bestimmten Druck auf zu Tampen.

Physically feels great to use. There is some imperfections to the "wood" which is only a minor issue. I was surprised at the lack of packaging and instructions for the price point. That being said it does the job very nicely!

I really like how well-made this coffee tamper is. I find the self-leveling design, with the comfy grip so practical and well thought-out. It is great quality too and has helped me make much more consistent espresso shots every time.

This is meant for a 51mm wide basket machine, I took a bit of a gamble and tried it on my Sage which is 53mm across assuming I read my ruler right.No matter - it works just fine. The puck is weighty and heavy, it sits firmly in place on the basket and then the wooden topped plunger just pushes down and compresses the shot. The slight loose fit doesnt bother it at all.Unscrewable for cleaning when the inevitable grinds find their way inside. Nothing more to say, it works, and works well and will last for the rest of your life probably.
