Der Sound ist nicht so gut wie ich es mir erhofft habe, ich verstehe überhaupt nicht das das Produkt so viele positive Rezessionen bekommen hat.Es spielt OK aber ganz ehrlich meine Soundkarte spielt besser.Das Produkt ging zurück.

It makes difference.I am not audiophile, I am not musician, and my hearing in my 50+ is not that good anymore. But even I feel the difference.I am in IT spending countless hours at computer. And streaming background music while I am working.Basically, desktop setup for near field low volume listening.Got SU-1 mostly because of curiosity. So many appreciations of its performance and not expensive.Before I used just standard Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 Dock Audio output. It was fine, could not complain (have no idea what DAC is used there).But now if I switch between Thunderbolt and SU-1 for the same stream, then difference is obvious.The same speakers, the same amp. But through SU-1 sound is just more detailed.In bass, in middles, in trebles. Stream from Thunderbolt dock feels blurry in comparison.Likely, if I never tried SU-1, I would have been satisfied with Dock audio output. But now I am happy that I got SU-1.

Ottimo DAC (convertitore audio digitale>analogico) hi-fi di fascia economica, fondamentale per riprodurre correttamente audio digitale (CD, file o streaming) su impianto hi-fi.Nonostante il prezzo svolge molto bene il suo lavoro, con una buona qualità audio e un bel suono. Utilizzato con sistema Raspberry/Volumio via USB o collegato direttamente al computer (Macbook Air M1), in entrambi i casi funzionamento perfetto, basta collegare il cavo USB (che fornisce anche l'alimentazione) con amplificatore NAD 3120 e diffusori Kef Q350.Dimensioni davvero ridotte e massima semplicità di utilizzo, più che consigliato da ogni punto di vista.

Allerdings finde ich den Sound über den USB Anschluss eher mittelmässig. Das macht mein Hidizs XO besser. Meiner Meinung nach bekommt der S.M.S.L SU1 einfach nicht genug Strom von Computer Smartphone oder Tablet. Nutzt man jedoch den USB-C Port als reine Spannungsversorgung sieht die Sache anders aus. Wenn ich ihn über meinen Topping D10s per Lichtleiter ansteuere klingt er echt schön. Knackige Bässe und quirlige Hochtöne. Die Mitten sind leicht zurückhaltend. Wie so oft die gesammte Kette muss stimmen. Hat man bereits einen Lautsprecher oder Kopfhörer der in den hohen Frequenzen angehoben ist, kann es mit dem SU 1 auch mal zu spitz werden. Einem eher zurückhaltendem Lautsprecher oder Kopfhörer haucht der kleine S.M.S.L. jedoch ein gutes Stück mehr Leben ein. Jedenfalls über den SPDIF Eingang. Den enormen Hype der im Netz gemacht wird, kann ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen.

Sehr kleiner und sehr guter DA-Wandler mit AKM 4493s Wandler Chip.Fast kaum von wesentlich teureren Geräten zu unterscheiden, obwohl natürlich von den Einstellmöglichkeiten und Bedienkomfort her spartanisch ausgestattet. Wer einen einfachen, gut klingenden Wandler ohne all zu viel Schnick Schnack sucht, wird mit diesem SMSL SU-1 bestens bedient.

Ich habe den DAC mit meinem Fernseher und meiner Anlage verbunden.Vorher hatte ich den internen DAC des Fernsehers verwendet, da dieser schon ein paar Jahre älter ist und interne DAC’s meistens nicht die besten wollte ich einmal schauen, ob ein dedizierter DAC einen Unterschied macht.Der Anschluss war sehr einfach, Optisches Kabel vom Fernseher zum DAC, weiter mit Cinch zur Anlage.Es ist eine direkte Verbesserung zu hören, der Ton ist klarer und differenzierter. Ich hätte nicht gedacht es ein Upgrade solch einen Unterschied macht. Aber für 80 € kann ich es nur wärmsten empfehlen.

Unglaublich in meiner Kette

Ich habe diesen DAC aus der Not gekauft, da mein vielfach teureren DAC aufhörte zu spielen.Trotz viele lobende Worte im Internet, war meine Erwartungen begrenzt. Ich wurde eines besserens belehrt. Der DAC ist jeden Euro wert, der Klang ist nahezu genau so gut wie meine vorhergenanten vielfach teureren Röhren DAC. Vielleicht fehlt der letzte Natürlichkeit der Wiedergabe von akustische Instrumente und Stimmen, aber was will man von einen 80 € DAC erwarten?Meine Erwartungen wurde auf jeden Fall mehr als übertroffen.Ich kann den DAC bedingungslos empfehlen.

Update: March 13, 2024 (previously 1 star rating, now I give it 5 star rating).After several exchange of messages between Leaudio seller and myself, it was suggested that I install SMSL SU-1 driver from smsl-audio.com official website, which I did. To my surprise that fixed my DAC! Now I am finally able listen to music from my PC sent to SU-1 by USB cable, which is connected to my SMSL A300 by RCA. It seems the driver installation to my Windows 10 fixed whatever issue I was having with SU-1 DAC. As result of this, I'm updating the previous 1-star rating to 5 stars. As for the sound quality from SU-1, as stated below, it's an improvement over my SMSL A300 amplifier by 15 - 20%, but more specifically, it is the sonic clarity and separation that are the most notable. Though a minimal audio improvement over my amplifier's internal DAC, the sound clarity and instrument separation are noteworthy, and for that I give a 5-star rating. Also, through this DAC, vocals seem to be slightly more forward and clearer.March 6, 2023, initial review, I gave it 1 star rating due to the DAC's failure after 10 days of use.Bought this SMSL SU-1 DAC in November 2023, but I couldn't use it since I didn't have a pair of RCA cables to connect it to my class D SMSL A300 amplifier that I purchased from Amazon at the same time. The DAC was on Black Friday sale, so I figured to try it with my new amplifier.Fast forward to Feb 2024, I finally ordered a pair of CESS 163-4i RCA cables, connected the DAC to my amplifier. The SMSL SU-1 DAC improved the quality by about 15% over my SMSL A300 internal DAC. I used the DAC on and off for about 10 days, then today it simply failed on me. It simply fell dead silent while playing a music file from my PC (PC to USB cable to SMSL SU-1 DAC to RCA cables to SMSL A300 amplifier).I tried another RCA port in the back of my SMSL A300 amplifier, but that too didn't work. The DAC simply does not work at all. I also tried powering down my amp completely, unplug RCA cables between the DAC and the amp, then powered both up again, and toggled between various input options in the DAC to no avail (USB, coaxile, and optical just in case the internal circuit's connectivity had glitched and that toggling among input sources might reset it).The source-light LED still functions on the DAC, but I get absolutely no audio signal going into my amplifier. Heck, I even rebooted my PC just to see if that may be causing an issue, but it was futile. After 2 hours of wrestling with the connections and toggling between input sources and settings, I gave up.Now I'm back to connecting my PC directly to my SMSL A300 amplifier by USB cable, which works fine. As far as SMSL SU-1 DAC is concerned, it was a decent DAC for the price (while it worked). However, the unit I got simply failed after about 10 days of usage.I'd instantly return it for a refund, but the Jan 31 deadline return date is closed, so sadly it's not an option for me. A good-sounding, affordable DAC with a high quality DAC chip, but in my case, I must have received a lemon, so quality control seems questionable. Maybe it's just bad luck on my part, but I still wouldn't recommend this DAC to anyone. You'd be better off to spend a bit more money on a high quality DAC with its own power supply built in.Update On March 11, 2024 I emailed with photo attachments of the failed SMSL SU-1 DAC to support@shenzhenaudio.com. According to their site, they'll honor their product warranty up to 6 months with either a repair, replacement, or refund if their product proves to be defective. Hopefully they'll reply in a timely manner with a resolution. As others may encounter a product failure after the Amazon's 30-day free return policy, I'll post further updates for reference.Update, March 11, 2024, 8 hours later, shenzhenaudio.com support staff replied my to my email, asked for the Amazon purchase invoice and order number. I forwarded them the necessary information.According to their reply, they'll forward my case to their Amazon Support Team. I hope this will be resolved asap as I'll need to either get a replacement DAC or get a refund and buy another DAC, so for now I'm stuck in a limbo with 70 bucks tied up in a failed DAC unit. For now I'm stuck to using the internal DAC of my SMSL A300 amplifier, which is quite ok, but I did like the somewhat improved audio fidelity of SMSL SU-1 DAC.Update March 12, 2024. Got a reply from Leaudio requesting detailed info on what's wrong with my SMSL SU-1 DAC. I forwarded an account of how it simply stopped working while playing music from my laptop connected to it by a USB. Also forwarded 3 photos of the DAC. Hope this matter will be dealt with either a refund, replacement, or repair soon, because at this point, the DAC is useless.

El sonido es más limpio y más detallado.Una advertencia el cable de la toma de corriente es de tipo "C" a tipo "A"En mi caso ningún problema ya que tengo una regleta con dos salidas tipo "A" a 5vatios.Instalación: Cable óptico desde la salida del lector de CD a la entrada óptico del DAC, luego desde la salida del DAC tipo RCA a la entrada RCA del amplificador, siempre que sea una entrada auxiliar, de CD o de Turner, menos la entrada de Fono. Para la corriente a 5Vatios entrada del DAC tipo "C" desde el transformador de 5vatios o bien sirve cualquier cargador de celular, no recomiendo conectarlo a una salida de USB del ordenador, tienen poco potencia. 簡単にいうと、AKM AK4493Sという高性能DACを十分生かし切っており、DACチップの性能が、すでに上限限界まで来ていることを考えると、これ以上の性能はDACには不要だと思います。スペックを見てもらえればわかりますが、DSDも、もはやソースがほとんど存在していないDSD512（せいぜい買えてDSD256のデータが上限ですし、これをダウンロードするだけでも大変）、FLACやALACなどのPCM系は768Khz/32bitまで対応。能力には十分余裕があり、歪・周波数特性など視聴限界を超えているので、音の厚みがあるないとか、音が細るとか、ボーカルが輝くだの輝かないだの、全部価格をみて気のせいです。この一台でまったく十分なので、大変お勧め。ディスコンになったり、余計な機能を足して値上がりするのがいやで、私は予備を２台買い足しました。アウトプットもRCAなので汎用性があり、アンプまで、３メーター近いAmazon Basicのケーブルを使っても、まったく問題がありません。MQAもいわゆるフルデコーダーで、core decoder/rendererの両方の機能を持っていますが、どんなDACチップも、現在のPC CPUの処理性能には桁違いで処理能力が劣るので、Roonなどを使ってcore decodingまではPC側にやらせ、Rendererとして使うのが、安定しているようです。フルデコーダーとして使うと、他のフルデコーダーと同様、MQA Studioクオリティのデータはハングアップすることが時々生じますが、rendererとしてだけ使っていれば、まずハングアップもありません。使い始めてしばらく、時折ジッターノイズがひどくなっていたので、あれれ？と思っていましたが、PC側を再起動すれば収まり、実は、ジッターノイズはほぼまちがいなく、PC側の内部で起こっていました。私はmini PCをRoonサーバーとして購入したのですが、mini PC側が、オーディオ機器と接続することをあまり考えずに設計されたものが、まだまだあるようで、ジッターノイズを抑えるために、USBの端子口を変えるとか、再起動してみる、ということが必要になることがありますが、このDACの問題ではない、というところまではつきとめました。この値段で、この性能、必要にして十分すぎるDACで、これ以上のお金をDACにかける必要はないと断言できます。オーディオ神話、オーディオ都市伝説に左右されない、本当の音質を聞き分ける耳を持っている人には、手放しでお勧めできます。近時、微小抵抗をつかったアナログ回路によるDACが「高級機」としてもてはやされつつある情けない風潮がありますが、まったく無駄な出費だったと、私は大いに後悔しています。最近のUSB4ケーブルを使えば、伝送途中でジッターノイズがまじることも全くなく、良質のPCを使えば、ノイズの悩みは「高級オーディオ用」など使わなくても問題なく回避できるでしょう。ジッターの大半は、PCの中で発生しているようなので、PC内臓のDACの性能があがってきたとはいえ、DACを分けることは意味があるように思います。PCのデジタル信号処理は、CPU／OSで問題なくこなしているので（44.1K/16bitから386K/32bitまで、出力が自由に可変できるのはその証拠です）、最後のPCM信号をアナログに変えるDACだけは、外付けUSB、というのは意味がありそうですが、本機以上のものを購入する意味はないと断言できます。

En parcourant les tests et avis sur Internet je suis tombé sur ce modèle qui fait l’unanimité chez les audiophiles avertis.Le boîtier ne paye pas de mine avec ses dimensions réduites et son côté austère mais la construction a l’air solide.La connectique est suffisante pour mon utilisation avec des entrées Usb, optique et coaxiale. Pour ma part, l’entrée Usb sert au branchement à une prise secteur. Si c’est le cas pour vous aussi pensez à commander un chargeur+câble usb-c/usb-c non fournis avec l’appareil. Seul le câble usb / usb-c est présent dans la boîte pour le branchement à un ordinateur.En ce qui concerne le SON je ne m’attendais pas à une grande amélioration par rapport à la conversion du Wiim Pro et surtout à mon précédent convertisseur Audio GD valant 10 fois plus cher.Dès les premiers morceaux la surprise est totale : une sensation de présence accrue, une scène plus précise et une belle transparence. L’écoute est donc très naturelle sans coloration particulière et avec du détail.J’ai préféré la connexion coaxiale à l’optique, un peu plus organique à mon oreille.La plus-value est réelle sur mon système. Je confirme donc la très bonne réputation du SMSL SU-1. Ce petit boîtier est tout simplement étonnant surtout au vu du prix. Je ne regrette pas mon achat et ne suis pas près de changer.Cinq étoiles, sans réserves.
