Very satisfied with the purchase. It takes over the streaming from the computer/laptop, which becomes free to be used during streaming. Connected to a live on Youtube, controled via mobile phone, no issues.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem simplen Gerät, welches einen RTSP-Stream (gängiges Protokoll für Live-Kameras bzw. Überwachungskameras) auf einem HDMI-Anzeigegerät darstellen kann.Nach diversen anderen Fehlschlägen mit Konkurrenzprodukten bin ich dann glücklicherweise bei ZowieTek gelandet.Das Gerät an sich ist wirklich von der Handhabung und der technischen Ausstattung her durchdacht. Stromzufuhr geschieht entweder über das USB-C Netzteil mit beigelegtem Kabel oder, und das möchte ich wirklich SEHR positiv hervorheben, per Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). Die Möglichkeit des Betriebes per PoE macht das Gerät wirklich super handy und für Veranstaltungen nutzbar, da hier der Strom direkt über das LAN-Kabel mitgegeben werden kann und somit höhere Reichweiten erzeugt werden können.Wie funktioniert das Decoding, also die Verwendung des Gerätes als Anzeigegerät für RTSP-Streams?Zunächst wird das Gerät per LAN-Kabel ins Netzwerk gehangen und es muss auf das Webinterface zugegriffen werden. Weiterer positiver Punkt: Die IP-Adresse des Geräts wird direkt im integrierten Display mit angezeigt. Also: IP-Adresse im Browser aufrufen, mit Benutzername und Passwort "admin" anmelden und loslegen.Für die Verwendung als Decoder muss das Gerät in den Modus "Decode" gesetzt werden. Anschließend können mehrere RTSP-Streams mit Name und RTSP-URL angegeben werden. Diese müssen noch auf aktiv gesetzt werden und zack, die Streams werden auf dem HDMI-Ausgang dargestellt. Ohne Verzögerung, kein Ruckeln, keine Lags, es läuft einfach einwandfrei. Auch höhere Auflösungen verschafft das Gerät ohne Probleme.Jetzt könnte man denken, dass sei fünf Sterne wert, oder?Leider nein, ich muss leider einen Stern aufgrund einer fehlenden Funktion abziehen.Wenn die Signalquelle des RTSP-Streams (also bspw. eine Überwachungskamera) ausgeschalten wird bzw. das Signal unterbrochen wird, dann baut das ZowieTek die Verbindung nicht wieder eigenständig auf! Das ist ein großes Manko, in jeglicher Anwendungssituation. Es muss jedes Mal erst wieder im Webinterface das Decoding des Streams deaktiviert und wieder aktiviert werden. Alternativ kann das Gerät neugestartet bzw. die Stromverbindung getrennt und wiederhergestellt werden.Ich bin bereits mit ZowieTek in Kontakt und diese haben versichert, dass an einem Firmware-Update gearbeitet werde, welches diese grundlegend fehlende Funktion beinhaltet. Daher soweit mal ein Lob an den Hersteller, sofern das Update auch wirklich geliefert wird.Ich werde hier entsprechend aktualisieren, sofern sich etwas tut.Vielen Dank fürs Lesen, ein "mit hilfreich" markieren würde mich freuen.

So as i put in the title if you are using NDI as part of your workflow this little box is definitely worth having in your kit bag. The ability for it to encode or decode NDI comes in so useful in a number of cases.Most of our ptz cameras and laptops are all NDI enabled so we don't have to worry about converting from HDMI to ndi BUT there has been countless times where we've been on the job site and the client has wanted to use their laptop but the I.T department have had restrictions on installing software.... with this device it's no problem - we just plug in the laptop hdmi to it and away we go - it's there on the network as an ndi source.We've also had times where there have been other cameras in the room and we've been able to use them on our network but plugging them into one of these boxes to convert their output to ndi.It also works really well as a decoder - meaning our ndi output from vmix can be viewed on any screen with a hdmi input anywhere on the network.The build quality is also fantastic and its pretty indestructible with its metal casing and the screen on the front gives you all the info you need at a glance so you don't have to keep going into the settings to find out what it's setup for.Overall I've not found a better and more reliable ndi encoder or decoder anywhere near the same price point so cannot recommend it enough.We found them so good and useful we now have 4 of them in the kit bag!

Hittils är den riktigt bra. Håller den i flra år är jag riktigt nöjd. Hittils har jag bara låtit dom stå på i några timmar utan problem. Hoppas det funkar bra i fortsättningen också 😊

Super Teil, guter support

Il prodotto fa veramente tante e cose e ancora non ho esplorato tutte le funzioni, per adesso l'ho usato come decodificatore sia srtp sia ndi, nel primo caso tramite un dji pocket 2 e ha funzionato bene nel secondo tramite iphone e app ndi per avere una camera senza fili aggiuntiva, ovviamente il secondo molto più fluido... l'ho testato sia tramite wifi interno sia tramite lan in entrambi i casi non ha dato problemi e ha offerto una buona copertura; per il prezzo che ha senza dubbio consigliato penso il più abbordabile e completo della sua categoria, non supporta flusso NDI non compresso ma per me non è fondamentale

Software on this device has not been well tested as there are several bugs and strange configuration issues. Furthermore, the device seems under powered for running H.265 which does require more processing power. We settled on a different product to reach our goals.

My quick review after 3 hours of testing a new 189€ "ZowieBox 4K HDMI NDI Encoder/Decoder" from Amazon:- firmware update over wifi is not possible. It always gets stuck at "Downloading..." step and does not continue even after hours. Just unplug power, plug it back in and it seems to always come back alive from this so far.- When connecting with a laptop directly over network cable having default settings on the Zowiebox, you have to wait a few minutes (5?), then it eventually gets reachable over its fallback IP address, then you can upgrade the firmware, which you can download from the product information page of ZowieTek's website.- Somewhat unusable manual because it is missing lots of important information.- lots of undocumented or not properly documented limits, for example it can not encode and decode at the same time, it can not do NDI and web-stream at the same time. It can not NDI and record at the same time. To get the Zowiebox to support 4K 30fps, you first have to connect something with 1080p resolution, then switch it to 4K30fps and then it suddenly works (tested with different cameras, laptops and FireTV stick 4K as sources) - this has to be repeated after each reboot when you want to record in 4k resolution.- The Zowiebox streaming configuration website only shows 4k resolution as a configuration option when currently having successfully connected a 4k resolution device to the HDMI input.- The device "supports" two concurrent encoding settings, however it can only do 2x 720p resolution encodings, or one 1080p + one 720p resolution, or one 4k + one 360p resolution encoding. I guess these are just some more not documented hardware limitations.- The live streaming configuration has a incorrect input validation which only allows very simple RTMP/SRT addresses without any url-encoded parameters and the input address may not specify a port number and it has to have a "/whatever" text after the domain, the domain name may not be longer than a few characters and these character may not have a minus or underscore or various other typical things in them. Long story short, I assume they never actually tested their SRT streaming support in production with any of the common SRT supporting servers and they probably only did very basic testing with RTMP streaming. Like seriously, was this written by ChatGPT 3 and no one spent more than 5 minutes to check this validation? Oh and yes, it uses the same validation regex for RTMP and SRT. Yep, this was definitely never properly tested and I somewhat doubt anyone actually uses this thing in production. Looking at the code of the Angular web app, I assume that this code never worked for SRT, because it has hardcoded a bunch of stuff for RTMP and thus should just not work for SRT in any way. Manually just removing the input validation in the frontend causes it to indefinitely show a waiting animation once you press the save button.- By default the device tries to pull time updates over NTP from servers in china. This is a legal data privacy problem in many countries around the world.- The device is advertised with HDCP 2.2 support on Amazon, but it seems to actually only supports HDCP up to 2.0, so no support for 4K HDCP.- The device firmware is linux based, and uses GPL(v3) licensed software. However the vendor doesn't publish the source code anywhere and doesn't show the licenses anywhere, and thus violates software licenses. Thus, from my legal understanding, it probably is illegal for anyone in the world to sell this device.- The angular application throws tons of errors, which are then just ignored internally. This whole thing looks like the software developers had to stop their development work once the prototype was good enough for marketing. However in my opinion it by far is not good enough for "production use". The hardware is good, but the not finished software makes this product kind of unusable for me.

Heute erhalten und gleich getestet. Super Teil wenn es darum geht ein HDMI Signal ( in meinem Fall 4K30 ) via NDI/HX3 zu zum Beispiel: OBS zu übertragen. Leider gibt es keine deutschen Testberichte über das Gerät und vieles muss man sich selbst erklären bzw. ausprobieren. Was das Streamen direkt vom Gerät angeht teste ich später. Tally funktioniert auch super. Insgesamt sehr überzeugend :-)
