In terms of quality the build quality of this trackball is very good. The track ball moves smoothly and once you set up the DPi on the mouse and the mouse settings on your PC/Mac its fairly precise. The buttons are what I would describe as silent tactile buttons. They make a muted click noise and there is good feedback when you push them. Really good. It operates pretty much like the 2.4G wireless version of the Bitra. The main difference is that it connects via Bluetooth. For my desktop PC the dongle version pretty good as the trackball stays with it, but for my MacBook the Bluetooth is far more convenient given the MacBooks lack of USB-A ports. Getting it connected to the MacBook was pain free and easy and its really easy to take the mouse with eth MacBook when I move around the house etc. My nit pick is that the power button underneath the mouse is a bit small and not so easy to turn on and off.I also have the Deft Pro trackball and if you are wondering the Deft Pro more ergonomic in the hand by a fair margin although in my view feels cheaper and not as well built. Some of the buttons on it are also of the "clicky" variety. The battery life on The Bitra Bluetooth and also the Bitra dongle version also seem to be far better that the Deft Pro.In an ideal world if Elecom would make a slightly bigger Bitra (same build quality and buttons, not as big as the Deft Pro) with both Bluetooth/Wireless Dongle and USB-C connection and powered via 1 or 2 AA batteries than I think this would be the perfect portable trackball mouse.

I now have 3 ELECOM trackballs. The Deft Pro, and 2 bitras, 1 wireless model and 1 bluetooth model. All are great. The large Deft Pro is my preferred daily driver on a Windows machine, it's size fits my hand well and I can map the many buttons to suit me.The bitras are also great, for their size and purpose. It's pretty small for my big hand and when I use it with Windows I prefer to remap the 2 button behind the scroll wheel for left/right click so I can move my hand further back and have my fingers rest on ball. The normal left button is a bit stiff on both my bitras, clicking it requires me to hold the bitra in place with my pinky finger or i'll push the whole trackball to the right. I assume this will lighten up with use. The 2 buttons behind the scroll wheel, and the right click button all click easily.I got the wireless model to use with my KVM because desk space is tight where it's at. I plug the wireless module into the shared KVM USB and it switches among computers as i switch the KVM. I've used it with Windows and a Raspberry Pi like this. Raspberry Pi works fine, although I haven't quite figured out how to remap the buttons yet in Linux, i'm too used to CLI only Linux. The bluetooth model I specifically got to use with my iPad mini. I did test the wireless version with the iPad, plugging the wireless module into a USB-C to USB-A adapter. It worked very well, but that's a cumbersome way to connect so I bought the bluetooth model. It took a couple of tries for me to get it to connect cleanly (I'm running the beta iPad OS so that is probably why) but once connected it was rock solid. Unfortunately there is no way to remap buttons on the iPad (not Elecom's fault, Apple's) but all the buttons work. Left & right & scroll wheel work as expected. The back 2 buttons work like left clicks. The case that comes with the trackball is built like a tank. I don't use it 😂. If I used the trackpad with a laptop I probably would, but it's too large for my iPad mini bag. Instead I tuck it into a bag that also holds my folding keyboard, power charger and various cables, it replaces the bluetooth mouse i used to carry. Can't wait to try it on an airplane with those tiny tray tables, should be much easier than a mouse.

It's considerably smaller than the regular Trackballs, a niche market. I was looking for something small that could be hand-operated I Googled "small Trackball" in order to find a smaller mouse. Well-suited for someone with a small hand. A 10 year old with a computer? A mobile mouse to stuff in the side pocket of a Laptop carry bag. Even maybe for a dog and pony show type presentation. I found this and ordered it. That's because of some physical limitations whereas I use a large Laptop in a lounge recliner with the leg rest up. Without going into detail, I use the mouse as a hand-held device, my right arm is next to my right thigh, the mouse in my hand resting on the seat cushion. It's unusual; it's a bit awkward until you get used to operating it. Takes some practice.I'm using Linux OS on my old 17" MacBook Pro. I need the large screen. The Linux driver is generic, converting the normally really great Mac Trackpad into a klutzy nuisance, whereas it works well enough on a regular PC, too crude to operate a Mac Trackpad like it's designed to work. Using a mouse instead, works like a charm. This Elcom Mouse is obviously made with some quality. Special trackball rollers probably overkill, but nice anyway. The Bluetooth works well with 2014 and later Macs. Works fine with my PC. Absolutely will NOT pair with pre-2014 Macs, but the 2.4ghz USB Dongle mouse works with anything, so use the USB on old Macs.Depending on the DPI Button setting, when you first pair the mouse the cursor may be a screen scattering jitterbug. You then must wrangle your way into the mouse pointer settings, set the acceleration slider no higher than the 2nd or third tick mark. Seems to work better with the "increase sensitivity" box checked. Now it feels and operates like a regular trackball. It has a small button that changes the DPI. Why? Must be some reason that escapes me. If you push the button you change the acceleration. Now the pointer has turned into a snail. Back into mouse settings and increase the sensitivity about 3 clicks and it's back to normal. Go figure? As long as you know about all this, it's not a problem. It has 5 buttons, forward and back buttons may prove useful. I prefer to push the scroll wheel "click" and the pointer turns into a double-ganger on a web page or document. Scroll direction and speed controlled by the pointer position. I set it so there is a smooth and continuous slow scroll whereby the page scrolls down at a leisurely pace where I can read a document hands-free. Very useful, a big Plus.I rate it 4 stars; it's use constrained by it's small size. You purchase it for a special purpose. Not realizing this, some would rate it fairly low. Four is my rating if you purchase understanding it's designed differently, not for the normal adult male hand-size. Still, like most everything, practice makes perfect, and with familiarity comes contentment. As with my situation, with a large hand, you adjust, and can get used to it where it feels normal. It is useful if there is a very limited area where a regular mouse would not have enough room to maneuver as is in my situation. If you pick it up thinking it's like the regular sized desktop trackball - Fogeddaboudit! For it's size it's cleverly designed. It can be used on a regular desktop and if one takes the time to develop the muscle memory and special hand and finger placement so as to develop a brand of second-nature familiarity...You need a reason to do that when some full-sized more conventional Trackballs can be purchased for less.Someone put a lot of thought into designing this mouse, it's good quality and so is due proper consideration; is why I bother to voice my opinion. In particular, if someone orders this mouse they'll know what they're getting, so will be less likely to return it.
