The Sony E 15mm f1.4 G for APS-C cameras is not a perfect lens but it is a very good to excellent lens in terms of angle of view (87°; 22.5mm 35mm equivalent) low weight (219gm), sharpness, a wide maximum aperture (f1.4), weather and dust sealing, a programmable button on the lens, and aperture control ring on the lens itself.The principal downsides are barrel distortion, which is quite noticeable, and substantial vignetting at the widest apertures. If you only shoot jpeg, you’ll never notice it because the lens and camera correct for both distortion and vignetting internally when saving jpeg files, but if you shoot using RAW files, it becomes apparent when you uncheck the lens correction box in the Adobe Lightroom develop module. You can see this in the first two images attached, the first one exported with the lens correction applied, the second with the lens correction box unchecked. There is a tradeoff between sharpness and controlling vignetting and distortion and Sony has obviously opted for the former, as this is a very sharp lens by my experience. However, the distortion and vignetting, for example is not nearly as severe as in the Sony E 11mm f1.8 lens; which I also own and, in my opinion, is an inferior lens to the 15mm; but is not nearly as well controlled as in my Zeiss Loxia 21mm lens, where it is close to negligible.If you want both a lightweight and bright aps-c specific ultra-wideangle prime in the f1.8 to f1.4 range lens, there’s not much competition. You could get a Voigtlander E 15mm f4.5 full frame lens, but it’s strictly manual and lacks weather sealing. There are some Laowa’s on the market in the 14-15mm range, but again, they lack weather sealing and are strictly manual. You could get a Sony FE 14mm f1.8 GM, but it’s full frame, twice as expensive, bulky (460gm), and has a bulging front element that will not accept screw-in lens filters.I’m not going to get into pixel peepery or bokeh ballery here. There are a number of online photo blogs that do that, like ephotozine and opticallimits. As a final note, the lens produces decent 14 point sunstars between f11 and f16 (image 3) with its rounded 7 blade aperture, but flaring does not appear to be well controlled like many other ultra-wideangle lenses.

This lens is one of the most suggested lens for videography with Sony APS-C cameras.If you have a huge resolutin full-frame Sony (e.g A1 or A7Rx) you get a 22.5 f/1.4 lens with 18-26Mpx resolution (and about 1.8 DOF).Is it a good deal, isn’t it?

Ich bin ein Kunde aus Rumänien. Ich habe dieses Produkt zusammen mit dem Sony a6700L Kit bei amazon.de gekauft.Sony Europe möchte mir die von Sony versprochene Zusatzgarantie für dieses Fotoobjektiv nicht geben. Für die Kamera war es einfach, da sie in der Liste zur Auswahl steht.Obwohl für dieses Produkt die einjährige Zusatzgarantie gilt und es auf dem deutschen Portal in der Liste zum Hinzufügen zum Konto und zur Registrierung der einjährigen Zusatzgarantie aufgeführt ist, ist dieses Produkt auf dem rumänischen Portal, wo es registriert werden muss, in der Liste vorhanden gibt es in Rumänien nicht.Daher möchte Sony Rumänien die zusätzliche Garantie nicht gewähren.Ich kann Sony Europe nicht informieren, denn egal wie sehr ich es versuche, es geht immer noch an Sony Rumänien.Es ist verständlich, warum viele Rumänen ihr Land verlassen wollen!Sunt client din Romania. Am cumparat acest produs de la amazon.de impreuna cu Sony a6700L Kit.Sony Europe nu vrea sa-mi acorde extragarantia promisa de Sony pentru acest obiectiv foto. Pentru camera foto a fost simplu pentru ca se regaseste in lista pentru a fi selectat.Desi acest produs este eligibil pentru exragarantia de un an si pe portalul german exista in lista pentru a fi adaugat in cont si a inregistra extragarantia de un an, pe portalul din Romania unde trebuie inregistrat acest produs nu exista in Romania.Deci Sony Romania nu vrea sa acorde extragarantia.Nu pot sa informez Sony Europe deoarece oricat as incerca tot la Sony Romania se ajunge.Se intelege de ce multi Romani vor sa plece din tara lor!

... unangenehm teuer und aus Plastik. Während CA und Schärfe keinen Wünsche offen lassen, schöne Sonnensterne und so gut wie keine Flares zu beobachten sind drückt der leichte Winzling ordentlich auf der Geldbörse, Günstigere Alternativen gibt es aber auch leider kaum. Was besonders aneckt ist das bei diesem Preis weder Beutel noch Softbox dazugeliefert wird, wie geizig ist das eigentlich ... Da bekommt man bei Samyang mit dem 12mm AF eindeutig mehr fürs Geld, bei nur leichten Abstrichen im Bereich der Bildqualität !

La lente non vale il prezzo a cui viene venduto. Nonostante sia apprezzabile nel complesso, presenta diverse imperfezioni. Il mio esemplare che ho reso presentava bassa resistenza al flare e una forte aberrazione cromatica. Sarebbe da comprare forse ad un prezzo inferiore a 500 euro.

I just got this lens today and I love it already. Bokeh is super nice with it, manual focus also very good. As an amateur, this is a great addition to my a6400 and FX30.

Ich habe das Objektiv an einer Sony A6600 ausprobiert. Es ist sehr gut verarbeitet und bietet alle Vorzüge eines G-Objektivs (Button, Schalter, Abdichtung). Der Autofokus arbeitet schnell, leise und zuverlässig. Die Schärfe ist sehr gut. Soweit die positive Seite.Was mir aber überhaupt nicht gefiel, ist die starke Anfälligkeit für Lensflares / Reflexe und Kontrastverlust bei Gegenlicht bzw. seitlich einfallendem Streulicht. Auch die Streulichtblende verhindert das nicht. Und beim Abblenden wird es schlimmer!Ich habe das Objektiv auch gegen das neue 10-20mm f/4 Zoom von Sony getestet, und war überrascht, um wie viel besser sich das Zoom in dieser Hinsicht verhält. Insofern habe ich das 15er wieder zurück geschickt. Gerade ein solches Objektiv würde ich gerne für Gegenlicht- und Lowlight-Situationen einsetzen, da kann ich ein so schlechtes Streulichtverhalten nicht gebrauchen.In manchen Tests, die man im Netz findet, wird dieses Problem ebenfalls gezeigt. Ich wundere mich, warum es bei manchen anderen kaum zur Sprache kommt oder wenn, dann im Fazit nicht zu einer Abwertung führt. Aus meiner Sicht hat Sony da leider gepatzt, das können sie eigentlich besser. Darum schweren Herzens (ich hatte mich sehr über diese Brennweite gefreut) nur 3 Sterne.

Wie dieses Objektiv ist es sehr klein und leicht, hat einen guten Weitwinkel für Aufnahmen und hat auch einen sehr schnellen AF. Sehr gute und extrem scharfe Bilder. Das war's Urlaub - Hanoi - Vietnam. Siehe Fotos im Anhang. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. "Kaufempfehlung"

Me sorprendido bastante su calidad, muy nítido, el peso es excelente para gimbal, muy luminoso a 1.4, me encanta. Lo uso con Sony FX30 y Sony A7III (hace automáticamente la adaptación a este objetivo)
