This is a fantastic idea, its basically a USB soundcard for your laptop, which will output SPDIF which is great if like me you have an old set of PC speakers (Logitech Z5500's) that you don't want to throw away, and need SPDIF audio out of.The only issue I have is I expected this to be able to do 5.1, but it doesnt have that option in the (plug and play) driver in Windows 11 (see the screenshot I attached). The listing implies that it can do stereo up to 5.1 channels, so I was hopeful it would have something like DDL built in, but that doesnt seem to be the case.I also couldnt send direct AC3 across the cable, so im not sure if thats a problem with my machine, or a bad driver, or just a setting.. (theres no manual provided so its hard to say).It works fine, but I was hoping for 5.1, if stereo is all you need.. this will be fine for sure, the build quality is good, and Theres minimal audio delay.

As mentioned in another review for one of these audio cables by Yanboronsn, the cable does it's intended task well, in that it works fine if you want to connect something like your PC or Laptop to an external speaker or sound bar that has an optical interface. However in general all the Yanboronsn cables that I have purchased recently tend to be overpriced for something of average quality.I wanted to connect my desktop PC to a new sound bar that I purchased recently, and I only have one HDMI cable that is in use for the monitor. HDMI cables carry voice and video and as I didn't need any video capabilities, then using this to connect my PC to a sound bar was fine an it done the job well. The same issue about their cables being overpriced but of average quality still applies here and again this is why it gets 4 stars instead of 5.
